I didn’t get the point about the reason such as why it will be marked with two stars, but for a common place for lunch or special breakfast, it is fine

This is a 2 michelin star restaurant and in many ways, doesn’t feel one The front desk is rather nonchalant and doesn’t take your coat or umbrella They don’t have a specific table for you despite your reservation and seating is pretty random The food...is good and not excellent and they all seem to share the same sauce They charge you RMB8 for chilli So hard to get their attention when you need something 7/10 and that’s generousMore

With an expectation of Michelin 2 star, it was quite a disappointment. The food were ok and definitely not at the level of 2 star. I ordered typical dim sum such as shrimp dumpling, chicken feet and the signature liquid eggyolk bun. The eggyolk was...a bit too watery (too much butter and not enough egg yolk to create the favor). The roasted goose was a disappointment as it was not authentic. The way cooked was more like Beijing Duck with crispy skin. And the plum sauce was without plum natural flavor. For services, it was neither at 2 star standard. For decent dim sum or Cantonese food in Shanghai, definitely not the pick.More

Dinning room is beautiful, big and the noise is well controlled, we feel confortable on chair. Waiters aren’t at same level of normal French 2 stars Michelin restaurant. Regarding food, it’s a very good Chinese food where we can feel ingredients not only sauces or...spices. Plates arrived fast. As usual in China often some plates are not available. Should not happen for a 2 stars ! French guide should review his rating.More

My biggest mistake was that I had very little time and I wasn't able to explore more items on the menu. Interestingly, there are no windows yet the place is bright and classy. The service was very nice, helpful and obviously (?) English-speaking. I'm really...impressed especially given that we asked them for a couple of extra requests and they fulfilled them with understanding. We asked the Beijing duck to be made in two styles and it was an excellent choice, one which I'm happy to recommend. I'm quite sure that was the best duck since the one I got in Beijing. :-) Definitely a special place and special flavors creating great memories. I'm definitely coming back.More

This is a restaurant that you shouldn’t miss in Shanghai. In the middle of the Bond, with high quality on the meals, with the personnel that can explain perfectly the menu (in English) and with the right cost. The place is indeed within a very...nice shopping mall and the location is perfect in front of The Peninsula. This could be the perfect restaurant to start in the Chinese food, with a good menu of Dim Sum and a great menu start exploring the Chinese flavours.More

The only thing imperial about this restaurant is its historical location. As the Founder and President of the HBS Wine and Cuisine Society, I have had the good fortune to visit many Michelin Starred restaurants. Clearly the quality of the service as well as the...presentation of the food is underwhelming. There are many restaurants in Shanghai and other parts of China that offers more sophisticated and innovative dishes that would deserve your attention and international trip. The food is average at best. It is clear that it is a favorite of locals as we were invited by a well respected CEO who designed the architectural development of Shanghai. The individual salon approach is conducive to large family events in a sophisticated decor. But the experience has little to do with any deserving Michelin restaurants I have visited over the past twenty years. Sorry Michelin this one does not pass the muster.More

I went with friends in June. The experience is by far one of the worst experiences I have had at ANY restaurant. It boasts 2 michelin stars, but I definitely did not experience it. My experiences at other Michelin starred restaurants like Eleven Madison Park,...Marcus etc have all been wonderful and welcoming. This was not the case here. On entering, we were shown very little attention. We finally had someone to come take our order, when we tried to ask for recommendations and how best to approach the menu, he rudely told us to 'start from the beginning and order from appetisers'. No one offered to discuss wine or get the sommelier despite the extensive wine menu and collection of french wines on entry. The food was average. It tastes good, but not mind blowing. It was classic chinese cuisine with no innovation. Generally, very unimpressed by the experience at this 2 michelin starred restaurant.More

A friend of mine who lives in Shanghai recommended the Imperial Treasure. The concierge at our hotel also gave very positive reviews. We tried the Sunday dim sum brunch and had a great experience!! Food was delicious!! Staff is attentive, even though they could only...speak Chinese. Ideally, go with someone who can speak and read Chinese. Definitively worth coming back!More

Quality of food is excellent and service also fantastic. We had the barbecue pork neck which I would say is the best I’ve had, along with the steamed pork dumplings, ice grass salad (which has a crunchy yet buttery texture) barbecue pork rib and rice...flour beef roll. Definitely would recommend this place.More

I have been to the Imperial Treasure twice and both times the food has been excellent. The key waiting staff are entertaining to say the least, with very good English. There are private rooms as well as a large dining space. The decor is very...sophisticated and it is reasonably priced for the standard you get.More

You might have to ask the restaurant directly rather than tripadvisor. I hope you managed and that you had a nice dinner.

Dim Sum is usually freshly made and steamed and as snack for Breakfast / Lunch ... Seldom someone order for Dinner but I am sure a small variation is always available .
