Great for a casual dinner. Portions were on the smaller side if you’re used to American sized servings, but it’s not overly expensive so easy to order more! Food felt authentic and good quality. Ricardo our server was great!

Definitely call in advance for reservations because it is popular and for good reason! We ended up coming around 5:00 which worked out perfectly. Our waiter Adam (Campo) took great care of us and the food was delicious and very reasonably priced! We particularly enjoyed the sea bass and the flambé pineapple dessert with coconut ice cream was delicious and fun! We would definitely recommend it

Ricardo was a wonderful waiter. My daughter has celiac and he was very helpful in helping with food recommendations. We also really wanted to try some local drinks so we ordered a local shot and he brought us 2 chiliguaro shots on the house. They were amazing! We ordered two margaritas and they were huge and actually had tequila in it. Lol. The food was the absolute best that we have eaten in fortuna and the absolute cheapest bill we paid all week. I highly recommend this place to eat.

Osman’s service was attentive and friendly, but we were disappointed to find subtle upcharges added to our bill without being informed. These unexpected costs made for a surprising total.
The food was very good overall, but the margaritas didn’t meet our expectations, especially considering the premium tequila upcharge. As for the flamin’ pineapple dessert, it felt more like a showpiece than a flavorful treat.
We would return, but next time, we would be more mindful of the pricing and ask questions upfront.

This was one of our favorite dinners in Costa Rica! Traditional dishes at an affordable price, and the flavors are exquisite. We ordered the shrimp guacamole app, and garlic shrimp and loin strips per our waiters recommendation. Both were delicious. Drinks are fantastic too. Highly recommend, thank you Osman for incredible service!

My wife and I went here tonight, and had a wonderful dinner! This is a traditional Costa Rican food open-air restaurant with a very comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. Everyone we interacted was very friendly. We had corvina fish for one plate and a beef plate suggested by our server Brian. They were both delicious. We also tried two desserts, home-made Coco ice cream topped with Baileys (also suggested by Brian!), and a flaming pineapple dish with ice cream. I was never a coconut lover, but the ice cream with Baileys has changed my taste perspective--really recommend this. They turned down the lights to serve the flaming pineapple dessert. It was special! Oh, and not to forget the Dragon Fruit Margarita! I couldn't recommend this place enough, and we will happily return again. Thanks for a great dinner!

Do not eat here unless you want to get scammed for mediocre tasting food.
My friends and I came here for a quick lunch to go. We initially went to order the pork fajitas; however, Omar the server, told us only the beef fajitas were available. At no point did Omar inform us that the beef fajitas would be 13,000 colones, as opposed to the 5,500 colones price shown on the menu. That is over DOUBLE the original price.
We tried several times to get Omar's attention but he kept avoiding our glances and walking away. We were finally able to get his attention when his colleague called him for us. Omar then explained to us that we were charged an extra 4,000 colones because sirloin beef was used. Again, at no point was it mentioned to us that a different cut of beef would be used and for a higher price. Furthermore, even with the upcharge, their 13% tax, and 10% service fee... it still does not equal 13,000 colones.
I find this restaurant to be EXTREMELY unethical. They intentionally mislead and deceive guests into ordering higher priced items.
Please stay away from this restaurant and visit the countless other honest restaurants with great food and great prices in La Fortuna.

We had a great time for dinner at this restaurant. Ricardo was our waiter and he made excellent recommendations. The restaurant feels local and the abundant plants make the restaurant feel very welcoming. My life had the sea bass special with mixed seafood, and I had a shrimp dish - both delicious. Highly recommend this restaurant for dinner while in La Fortuna!

Adan was awesome!
We had a great dinner and wonderful desert.
So good!
My girls ordered chicken pasta & beef fajitas, which both turned out delicious.
My wife and I each ordered the special and loved it.
We highly recommend getting the flaming pineapple. It was more than just a good desert. It was a fun little show.
I thought I had a video of it, but failed to get it recording. I was tempted to order it again just for that.

This is an extraordinary restaurant. The food is a sensational balance of traditional and creative dishes, with lots of options for vegetarians and beautiful fish dishes. The atmosphere was great, with very friendly and highly professional staff. Ricardo was our server, and he was exceptional - friendly, attentive and bilingual. The prices are very reasonable and the flavours and presentation are first class.
Their craft beer menu is excellent (the passion fruit IPA is dreamy!) and their in-house coconut ice cream was the perfect way to end an adventurous day. We have very little time in La Fortuna, but will return tomorrow to try more of their food.
There is lots of off-street parking and it’s conveniently located up the road from El Salto (the rope swing).

Being vegetarian and travelling around Costa Rica means that one has access to a limited number of 'local dishes'. During our stay, we moved between five different places around the country and tried a number of restaurants and sodas. The local food that we ate at Tiquicia must rank amongst the best. Worth mentioning is that plaintain slices accompanying Gallo Pinto were cooked and served in its skin thus being soft and moist, and excellent well flavoured rice and beans. The varied drinks menu including mango juice is also a highlight.

We were referred here by a
Mexican traveler who was so impressed she ate here twice.
Well now we know why- the food, the service, the location were all 5 stars! Authentic food prepared fresh, Antony the waiter made the best recos and his friendly demeanor truly showed us the spirit of Pura Vida! Must visit when in La Fortuna. Order the Chifrijio Tiquicio- so good!

We went primarily based on reviews and the menu looked good. However, it is over-rated, and slightly over-priced.
The food is OK (although they overcooked my steak which should be easy to get right?)
A couple of us had fajitas, but the meat only came with ONE 3 inch wrap…!?
They try to push you to order more things but we had better food (and value) elsewhere…

Meat platter taken with chicken, pork, steak and chorizo and it was perfectly fried. Everything very tender. Large amount of meat (more than the last 3 days combined) And that made me happy 😀
Prices are also definitely ok.
