A black eye on an otherwise perfect trip to La Fortuna. We were looking for a more reasonably priced and authentic Tico restaurant from our hotel. Waiter was great with the kids - but a $215 bill for 8 people at a soda (with mediocre food quality) was ridiculous - and we didn't even have alcohol. After the large bill... More

Be sure to have a lot of cash on you. They are expensive for dinner and they did not want to take Visa. The claim was that their phone connection was bad and therefore credit cards did not work. We had to leave family behind and drive to the hotel to get cash to pay for dinner. We spoke with... More

Lucky find along the way to Arenal national park. Great food that everyone in our party enjoyed. No one left hungry- best arroz con pollo yet! A visit by a Tucan and wild turkey were a plus.

We stopped by for some ceviche and guacamole. Delicious, fresh and not expensive. Nice outdoor, covered seating area. It's a bit out of town so not easy to find, but a lovely little spot.

We got to this place by recommendation from the guide who we just finished a volcano hike with, Cristian. We didn't want to go back to the hotel restaurant, and wanted to grab something good and authentic. The place is very close to the Arenal Nat'l Park. We were the only ones there on Thursday night. My daughters fell in... More

We stopped here after hiking at the Volcano National Park and had amazing service and terrific food! They bent over backwards to make sure we were happy and we would definitely recommend. The view was wonderful and the animals that come up to you adorable!

We had lunch and a beer after visiting the Arenal Volcano National Park. The food was great and service was very friendly, especially Marvin (of course). We would definitely go there again!

We stopped here for lunch after the suspension bridges and before hiking in the national park. Extremely well located 1km from the park. Friendly staff. Nice atmosphere. The observatory rice was the best traditional dish we've had so far. Highly recommend it!

Driving back from the Mistico suspended bridges, we spied this spot along the road. Eduardo greeted us and offered to book some tours, but he was not pushy about it. We sat on the patio and saw coati, agouti and turkeys who enjoyed banana slices and tomatoes while we dined on delicious casados.
