We went for breakfast while on vacation. We were staying at another hotel nearby. Food was great! Recommend the banana pancakes. Service was OK...not much personality. We sat outside and had to dodge birds dive bombing us to get our food, but that is to be expected there.

We ate here for every breakfast for a week. They have good scrambled eggs, pancakes, fruit plates. The orange juice tastes like it is fresh squeezed. My wife loved the eggs with a side of rice and beans, The service is friendly and the view over the beach is lovely.

Great place for breakfast or dinner after sundown. Omelette and plato frutas for breakfast, ceviche and surf n turf are our favorites here. Friendly English speaking service.

Stayed here for a short holiday and ate here quite a bit. For breakfast I tried the omelette and banana pancakes. They were both good but I my favourite was the omelette. My husband sampled something different most days and really liked the Costa Rican breakfast. The black bean soup is a must try dish. We had fresh tuna one... More

Bugs were a little big bad outside, but we still thoroughly enjoyed the happy hour drinks (Marg's and mojitos). Food was great. They let our kids have their own table outside with us and were very nice to us.

Stayed at Las Tortugas hotel and ate breakfast and dinner at the restaurant regularly. Loved the banana pancakes and tipical breakfast. But the best meal we had was the fresh seared tuna salad and the seafood soup. It was by far the best seafood soup I've ever had. Also, go for happy hour and the get the lime margaritas. They're... I have been a gallo pinto fan all my life and travelled throughout Nicaragua and Costa Rica in search of delicious pinto. Hotel Las Tortugas tops the list by far! The whole hotel staff is from the nearby village of Matapalo. The cooks have a rural talent of making tasty typical dishes. I also highly recommend all the rice dishes:... More

We had a lovely two nights at Las Tortugas. We stayed in room 9 (the larger bed listed is circular, just FYI). The staff was friendly and the food in the restaurant was good, though it is worth checking out other spots in the area. The big plus sides were the pool, the hammocks, and the proximity to the beautiful... More

The dining room at Hotel Las Tortugas is really great. We ate there multiple times. The food is very good local food. Breakfast is wonderful. Service is very attentive. And the prices are 20%-25% lower than nearby restaurants. Loved it... Get the Norte Americano breakfast with banana pancakes...! They're the best.
