We came here the second night of our trip, after meeting some locals that showed us around, we ended up stopping at Kikes for dinner and drinks!! The food was great, super friendly atmosphere.... We had the shrimp and rice and it was a huge meal! We also played pool and met a lot more local people here... all in... More

It's a local place with regulars and visitors and people who are staying at the property. It's an eclectic mix of customers that fits the description as the place to go in Playa Grande. Menu is varied and includes hamburgers along with more typical fare. Food is good and reasonably priced and the service comes with a smile! Check it... More

We had the shrimp ceviche + the sauted sea bass which were very nice. Quality of shrimp in the ceviche was very very nice and it still remains one of our favorite from the trip.

This restaurant serves Costa Rican food. Nothing fancy but very, very good food. It feels like Costa Rica, it takes like Costa Rica. If you want upscale or fancy eating, this is probably not your place.

We stopped here for dinner and it was definitely the hot spot for the locals. We were welcomed warmly, and enjoyed a great Costa Rican meal in the hustle and bustle of a weekend night. If you are looking for a bar atmosphere, I'd start here.

I had my first Costa Rican breakfast here yesterday. The food was simple, but very tasty. Great French toast! And the coffee was delicious. Be prepared to wait as the food slowly leaves the kitchen, but it that bothers you, why are you in Costa Rica anyway?

Relaxed atmosphere, good food. Our group of seven ate here twice during our week in Playa Grande. The highlight was likely the Mahi Mahi casada (national dish that includes rice and beans, salad and at least one other thing). The second time we went, the only fish they had was turbot and it wasn't nearly as good (likely frozen).

We went for breakfast and the food was ok--but what really brought me back was their house made hot sauce. It was amazing, I bought a bottle to bring home.

Great locals food that ranges from $7-20 for dinner. They have huge portions and it's definitely worth the money. They have a wide range of options from salads/soups to rice dishes, meat/seafood dishes, burgers/sandwiches and pasta. I got a rise with seafood (~ $9 ISD) and my friends got local compact dish. All of our food was delicious and we... More
