We started going to lunch at Sheriff Rustic because it's behind Choco's Surf School. We went back because it offers great value, tasty food, and the opportunity to look at the ocean under the shade of a big tree. It's one of the view beachfront places that offer the traditional casada (combination of a meat or fish together with rice,... More

We ate here on New Year's Eve, it being the first place we found that wasn't fully booked for dinner. The menu is pretty simple, but fresh and well made. We ordered the beef tenderloin with fries and salad, and the chicken with fries and salad. Both were delivered to the table promptly and piping hot, by polite and efficient... More

Had Casado for lunch, handy location right on the beach and good food with reasonable prices. The Casado is a full meal, they also have hot dogs and more "fast" food.

This was one of our favorite places to get Casado. The fish was so delicious! Cannot beat the view--it's right on the beach. Fun neighborhood dogs frequently came and hung out as well.. :)

All of our first choices were not yet open for the season, but the view at this place made up for it. The veggie casado was the best we had all week

Easy to find by walking down the Main Street in Samara till you get to the beach and then turn right, can't miss it. It has an easy natural feel to it. Popular with locals it has an authentic Tico air about it. Only open for breakfast and lunch. They serve local fare like beans and rice, casadas, fresh fruit,... More

Good food for our family. We had some burgers and casados with fish. The meals are a little more expensive than in a typical soda, but you're right on the beach so you pay a bit more for the view (see my photo).

We ate here several times - breakfast, lunch, and afternoon drink break. The location was great and it seemed more "real" that than other beach spots. Food was solidly tasty. Staff was fine, though as others have noted, not super friendly. It reminded me of German restaurants where service is direct and not overly attentive. Less "touristy" and low key.
