Beautiful sunset view if you get there before 6pm. The external view of the restaurant belies the interior and the content. There is an extensive menu, and whilst I cannot speak for the 25oz porterhouse (!), the shrimp and jalapeno is excellent if you can take the pain and sweat, followed by the Especial de Marisco Lagarto. Not the cheapest... More

We visited El Lagarto on our last night in Quepos. The food was very good and the atmosphere was fantastic. I don't remember what I had (its been a couple of weeks) but my wife and I were both happy with our means and our drinks. My impression is that this would always be a reliable spot for dinner in... The shrimp & jalapeno appetizer is highly recommended! Food was served on a wooden plate, fresh! Lobster is fantastic. The ambience & décor along with the glorious sunsets made this place one of favs. Food & Service 5star!

My boyfriend and I visited El Lagarto last week during our stay in Manuel Antonio. The food was excellent, and the service was great. Our server, Alejandro was very attentive and informative. He gave us recommendations on local excursions and things do in the area, which was very helpful. The ambiance of the restaurant was great: upbeat popular music, wooden... More

What an interesting and nice place to eat. They use live coals which they pull down a chute, and cook your food over a bed of coals. We had the catch of the day which was an entire red snapper. It was great. The view at sunset was beautiful, good service and two for one drinks at happy hour.

El Lagarto was recommended to us by friends. We had a group of 12 and the service was amazing. The atmosphere in the restaurant is great for an evening out. The music is good, the service made all the difference. We celebrated 2 birthdays and the restaurant was more than accommodating. The food was not as great as the service,... More

None of us like the service and waitress attitude. It is a nice spot, true, however there are plenty of restaurants around with this environment. Honestly, being a GRILL restauran, at least the meat, it was regular cooked

Love it. My wife and I usually visit this place to celebrate our anniversary and every year it's better and better. The plates are made of really pretty wood and every plate it's serve as soon as comes off the grill. Highly recommend it

very unique experience. simple food done very well. the hardwood fire grill is amazing to look at. The end product was very nice. Simple layout but amazing wood work through out the restaurant. food served on wooden platters. totally enjoyed the experience but we were happy to arrive early as a few large groups came in as we were finishing...
