How is Restaurante y Marisqueria Mar Azul rated?

This terrific little spot was an oasis on our trip from the Pacific Coast to San Jose. This is a restaurant, not a soda, so it will take a bit longer but all the food is made fresh high quality. Cute and clean facilities. We...started with juices and complementary snacks (fried yucca or cup of seafood soup). Three of us had fish taco appetizer, which came with two rolled tacos in each order topped with salad, and one of us had the shrimp, chicken and quinoa salad which was generous with avocado, tomato, cucumber, red onion and little cubes of cheese. Everything was delicious. We were not hungry enough for the main courses but those looked great too! Service was friendly and attentive.More

Amazing, delicious, fresh food

We stopped in for lunch between San Jose and our resort. The food was just simply amazing. Fresh clams, ceviche, black rice with seafood. The picky teens even loved it with rice with chicken and shrimp. Fresh juices can not be missed: pineapple, strawberry and...watermelon were all excellent. Our waiter “Brian” made his way beautifully in English and taught us some Spanish. We might have to go back at the end of the week on our drive back—More

Nice breakfast

We dropped in for an early morning breakfast and both went for the huevos rancheros. The meal was really good and the service was good, even though we don't speak Spanish. The coffee however was a little on the weak side. Great view of the...beach.More

WORST PLACE EVER

One of the worst places I've eaten in puntarenas. Disgusting food, stale bread, raw chicken and potatoes burned black .... And when I went to complain, no one wanted to take care of the claim, even with food in hand to return. Utterly disgusting. Do...not go, hopefully improve, but simply bad customer treatment is unacceptable !!!!More

Not good octopus (pulpo)

I had lunch with friend today in Puntarenas, Restaurant K-Boss. I must admit I had much better pulpo (octopus) then this one. Pretty expensive compare with similar places. Yes. they had wifi.

Just bad.

The K-Bo's I will be referring to is the one on elPaseo de Los turistas. I had a terrible meal there. The seafood in my rice was over cooked and as a result it was rubbery and tour. The half of lime that I got...with my dish looked as if it was a leftover from the previous night's drinking party. It was brown, gross and old. The waiter never returned and the woman at the cash register has the worst attitude ever.More

Wow amaizing!!

Totally stumbled on this place by accident, it was a blessing! Amazing food, one of the best , meals we had on our trip , if you are on your way to or from san jose do yourself a favor and make a stop to...order everything on the menu , especially the tuna tarter and tuna carpaccioMore

Great cerviche

We stopped in for a beer and whilst there tried the local fish cerviche. I can tell you it was just awesome with right amount of tang and delightful cilantro aftertaste. The serving was very generous and came with crackers as well. Washed down with...4 local beers for under $20 was just what we needed.More
