This is a good choice for a reasonable lunch. We went with family-- it was a choice for a birthday lunch for a teenager---one of his favorite places. Very good rice/risotto dishes, huge portions. Our group had everything from steak to fish to vegetarian -- something for everyone.

I really enjoyed my experience at Chancay. After living in Peru I missed some of the flavors in their foods. Chancay definitely gave me a taste of being back in Peru. The only disappointment was the cancha- tosted Peruvian Corn- with the ceviche. They served cooked yellow corn with it instead which isn't at all the same.

The restaurant is in the Itskatzu Mall. Small mall in the city of San Jose, CR. For starters we had ceviche (fish and shrimp), and anticucho(1st and 2nd photos). For entrees, we had the Chupe de Camarones and Arroz Chaufa. And for dessert, we had Suspiro Limeño. We had beers, freshly squeezed pineapple juice. The tab was around $80.00. The... More

I went to Chancay for lunch, the place is neat, the waiters well suited and the food incredible. I asked for a Chicken Causa Limeña and it was what I expected and more!. I highly recommend it if you want to taste different and exotic cuisine.

I strongly recommend visiting Chancay. The Tiradito de Chancay and Marlin Ceviche were delicious. Miguel, our server, was the definition of great customer service.

Everything was okay. Nothing really stood out (service, food, atmosphere). Probably won't return if I stay at the Courtyard again when I'm back here for another business trip.

This little restaurant has become a regular stop on my Costa Rican itinerary. I have never been disappointed in the quality of food and its presentation. I happily recommend CHANCAY TO THOSE WHO ENJOY A HAPPY LOCATION with a bit of customer noise.

This was my second visit. I ate here two years ago. The service is excellent; they have a large menu; the food is all amazing and the drinks are great. I recommend the trilogy ceviche and the chichironne sea bass. You will not be disappointed.
