I stopped in with friends for lunch. We sat in the 'outdoor' area (covered). The goal had been to find an inexpensive "tipico" lunch place and we succeeded. One friend had the chicken with rice (pollo y arroz), another the chicken soup and I had a ham sandwich. The pollo y arroz was enough to feed a family - okay,... More

You would not enter the restaurant by the way it looks like from outside, but it turns out to be hiding a very good restaurant and full bar. Very good local food (pay attention to the daily suggestions), friendly staff (they speak English), easy to make new friends, and very good prices. You would like to visit it again.

Best garlic shrimp and red beans around. I'm from Louisiana and I know red beans. Meet some new friends which made it all the better.

My husband wanted to try this place. The service was fast and the food was so so. The fresh fruit was good though. The eggs were okay compared to other places we ate at that made us eggs. The tables were small and it was a little awkward to eat. I noticed that the tables did not seem to be... More

What looks like a seedy part of town turns out to be hiding a great restaurant and bar. Just a couple of blocks from Hotel Santo Tomas. We had the grilled chicken and chicken fajitas and they were both delicious. Don't miss this spot is in the area.

This restaurant will not disappoint! 3 blocks from Mercado Central and 2 blocks up from the central park puts it near everything that counts in San José. As to the food, my tenderloin was tender and juicy and cooked exactly as I liked it, and my wife's shrimp was perfectly prepared. Both plates were served generously. APPEARANCE: Clean, interesting to... More

We were staying at the Hotel Santo Tomas, this was a nearby restaurant. The food was excellent, as was the service. Would go back.

Visited here today with my friend after reading reviews and because it was close to our accommodation. Was not disappointed. We got a complimentary soup and bread which was delicious, as well as a complimentary coffee at the end. I had La Criolita rice dish and my friend had fajitas (tortilla wraps are ordered and charged extra by the way)... More

Had a wonderful omelette there with ham and Costa Rican fried cheese. Very reasonable prices and our waiter waited on us hand and foot
