This restaurant is a bit out-of-the-way but very close to our hotel (Hotel Aranjuéz). The cuisine is at its base Italian, lots of pasta dishes and excellent pizza. Not cheap!

Do not let old, out of date reviews trick you! I fell for that terrible trap too. Decided to spend a lazy summer afternoon with my husband and sister at the city, and we visited this place based on the ratings and reviews... service was poor, appetizers (Café Mundo sampler) felt over fried, too salty, too greasy. As main course... More

We visited that place, because lonely planet totally recommended it (specially for pizza and pasta, what we had). the location at this old colonial house is nice. Service is friendly, nothing to say about that. But the food tastes and looks like fast food (pizza even worse then that). Fatty, everything fried (starter for 2), not homemade at all or... More

Shared the avocado bruschetta stater which was as well as it was large. We had the special of the day. Salmon cooked beautifully. The Shiraz was excellent and reasonable by Costa Rican prices. Go early and eat on the terrace or book. Look at all the rooms as the art work is an experience.

This well presented, traditional villa with a lovely surrounding terrace made a great setting for dining and it has a lovely atmosphere. Food not exceptional but was good quality and reasonably priced. Staff welcoming and helpful. We had a superb evening.

It's very cliché ! Mostly expats go there but the food is good and the pina coladas were fantastic !!! The plates are huge and the service is fine.

Used to be a good place, you could accept the high price for the food, and the atmosphere, but not anymore, now the only good thing is the 3 pieces of bread they serve you at the start, the place is as cute as ever, nice atmosphere, as for the rest, tasteless food, and too expensive

The restaurant was a real find. We had tasty pasta in this beautiful villa just close to the downtown. Service was also excellent and very friendly.

My husband and I enjoyed the lunch special at cafe mundo. Its 4800 and i believe changes every day. You can choose the dish of the day or a pasta of the day. I had the pasta which was a creamy chicken sauce with fusilli pasta. It was very satisfying. My husband had the chicken and rice with a honey... More

All good here. Loved the food as did everyone else in the party. Service was slow and not real friendly.
