A casual restaurnat with very good food and friendly service. The tuna carpaccio was delicious and I heard raves about the chao men also. Tables are nestled in the palm trees right on the beach.

We were told to go here by our Avis representative for great local cuisine and she was right. The outdoor seating area was decorated with lush green palms and flowers and the floor was all sand. The view was better than any five star restaurant overlooking the ocean. We acually jumped in and swam after eating luch and returned the... More

Stopped in on a rainy day as it was next door to our hotel. We were the only diners as the family played Futsal in the dining room next door. Had a bit of a language barrier but settled on lagoon fish with lemon (pretty much was told to order that by the waiter!) and it was amazing. For those... More

We found this place quite accidentally. It was a rental car day for a drive around Huahine Nui and Iti. We had planned on snorkeling and eating lunch at Relias Mahana but they were closed for remodeling. The manager there referred us to Chez Tara. They weren't open yet so we got out our snorkeling gear and went out into... More

Chez Tara was highly recommended by several sources for a traditional Polynesian brunch. They cater more to locals than to tourists, which is actually wonderful in its authenticity, but can be a bit confusing if you're expecting a more structured experience. We had a noon reservation, but arrived around 11am, and just sat and enjoyed the gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous views... More

Very nice location and cozy place, but we were ignored despite the fact that there were only 2 other guests at the restaurant at the time. The staff was doing other things (like putting up Xmas decorations) and we never got any service.... so we left...

Don't go here late otherwise you may never get served. Don't go here if you expect immediate, slick service. Do go here if you have time on your hands, want great views right next to the lagoon, and to eat well-priced great tasting food. We came here three times and the food was excellent on each occasion - really generous... More

Authentic Tahitian Food & Music. Dancing barefoot in the sand. Right on the beach. We arrived by sailboat and took a dingy to the shore.

The food is prepared in an underground oven at opened just before the buffet is served; around 12:00 ish. Authentic Tahitian food and music. the atmosphere is fantastic; local-style, on the oceans edge.

This memorable local style Sunday lunch was delicious and entertaining. Music provided by local musicians was very good. Right next door to Relais Mahana.
