Beluga was 2 min walk from our accomodation, Kia Orana Beach Bungalows (which we also highly recommend). The food was fresh, tasty and well presented. They make their own feta which was the nicest we've ever tasted! Shoestring fries we felt were a bit generic and didn't match the quality of the rest of our food. It'd be nicer to have chunky fries from local potato or out of taro. Their cakes were freshly baked and moist. The kitchen was open plan, so you could see how your food is prepared, which I always find reassuring. Our waiter Tama was very professional and knowledgeable. We passed Beluga every day and it was always full of people, both locals and tourists in spite of a very modest outside sign that could be easily missed. Very friendly and well behaved chicken was greeting everyone. Our only request would be to play different music-by the time we have finished our meal, those generic electronic beats they were playing had finally got to us. Most of their clientele that was at least 35+ , lots of them in their late 50s-we felt the music should have reflected this diversity. Hope next time we come, their music will be as classy as their meals.

Fantastic breakfast, fast and super friendly staff. The atmosphere was amazing and nothing was too much for the staff ( right down to the extra bacon we ordered) - portions are great value while not being too much. My three teens and I loved the place and wished we had discovered this place earlier in our trip. One of the Cook Islands under rated gems in paradise. Will be the first place we head to on our next trip.

We tried Beluga because of the reviews and we weren't disappointed. Our food was good but I have to rave about the iced tea. I do not know what they do special but I have never had any as good. I have researched and tried to figure it out with no luck. My husband was very pleased with his Salt and Pepper Squid and I very much enjoyed my Chicken and Bacon Wrap AND...the iced tea.

My friends and I stopped at Beluga on our way to lunch at the Castaway Resort. We were very fortunate to find an outdoor table, on a very warm summer's day. We were given the menu to browse, and there were some wonderful choices for food available. Yet instead we ordered iced coffee each, to cool off, and before continuing along the road for a beachfront lunch. Judging how busy the cafe was outdoor and indoor, on the day of our visit, this is a popular cafe! We have been to Beluga before, for coffee, so it was an easy decision to stop there again. Table spacing is close together outside, so we weren't free to discuss local topics as we had wished. But it was a great chance to catch up with another friend, who by chance happened to pop in for brunch at the same time. Beluga does very good iced coffee, and their cabinet food looked delicious. Next time we will arrive earlier and sample the luncheon fare.

My wife and i visited for lunch one rainy day and certainly were not dissapointed, great food, staff and quick to serve your food. Great local beer and if you sit outside you will be greeted by the local chicken. Even has a small shop inside with some cool stuff. highly recommend.

Great cafe with excellent food. We enjoyed it so much we went twice. It was a nice long walk along the beach from where we were staying at Lagoon Breeze Villas. We were a group of 10, including 6 children aged 9-14. The only reason I’m giving it a 4 star and not a 5 is that we were greeted by a not too friendly waitress on our first visit .. perhaps she was just hot and tired? The rest of the staff were friendly and helpful. We ordered the kids Nutella pancake (small serving but enjoyed), Bacon and Eggs on sourdough, panini (I wished I’d tried the chickpea one as that looked delicious too), Pancakes (that also had ice cream) and creamy mushrooms. We all really enjoyed our meals. The smoothies are in a huge glass jar, and coffee was also good (although all venues use UHT milk). Would definitely recommend and return next time!

This place was recommended by a local tour guide and it was busy, both a good sign. Despite being busy we still got a table straight away. We ate here for lunch and, if we had known about this earlier in our trip, we would have gone there multiple times. Price is comparable to at home (mostly $22-$25 per dish) and the quality of the food was excellent. Cheers, Jo

Open daily for breakfast and lunch this fully licensed cafe is a very popular spot, road side or indoor seating options available. We ate here twice, once for breakfast and once for lunch, both times the food was great and the service friendly. Open 7.30am ish to 2.30pm.

Couldn't wait to visit Beluga on return visit to Rarotonga. So good we visited 6 times in 3 weeks. Staff very efficient and friendly and good service. Good reasonably priced meals, especially loved the salt and pepper squid, prawns, steak open sandwich. Great menu so hard to chose as all looked good. Great coffees and also loved their smoothies and the carrot cake is to die for.

This eating spot was recommended to us and it didn’t disappoint. The food was presented beautifully and in a timely manner. The portions were adequate with our group having prawn salads, chicken sandwich and turmeric fish. Highly recommend.

man we loved this place. we were staying a couple of doors down so it was a convenient place to have breakfast every morning. and what a good idea. the eggs bene was perfectly cooked, with well cooked bacon, and perfectly made hollandaise sauce. it came with a beautiful tomato chutney to change up the flavours a bit. and the omelette was probably one of the best I've had in a while. no undercooked egg in it which is one of the things I find happens a lot with omelettes. and a good, strong, well made flat white.. just what you need to start your day. the staff are really friendly, and the entire place is extremely efficient. both with service and food wait times. probably for the best, because it's a very busy place. only downside is if you sit inside, its extremely hot so try and sit outside where it is slightly cooler due to the breeze.

Beluga is the type of cafe you'd expect to see in a trendy suburb of NZ or Australia but instead, locals of Raro are blessed with this gem :) The best coffee on the island, paired with friendly staff and an amazing menu. Fresh seafood dishes, old favourites like chicken panini or steak sandwich and if you're in the mood a ice cold Cooks Lager. Don't leave Rarotonga with seeing Nate, Lou and the team at Beluga!

There’s much to love here. Great food with a serious emphasis on presentation. Lovely baked goods and a nice cup of coffee. There’s usually a gaggle of locals so great people watching with the inside of the cafe part hip art gallery part food service establishment. Spendy I’d say.

We went twice to Beluga - once for coffee and another for lunch. It’s a cute little NZ-style cafe. Their chalkboard menu was really reasonably priced, and we had the chicken sandwiches, breakfast panini and chickpea panini. They were all great sizes and delicious! The coffee was pretty good too.

We were looking forward to visiting Beluga Evan before we got to Rarotonga. We waited for days to finally get there and we were not dissatisfied. Turmeric slow cooked fish and parrot fish tempura plater were exceptional. Raspberry cheesecake was outright amazing. Top that with great service and it makes for a memorable lunch. We will be back. Thank you Beluga.
