The day I visited, the ONLY fish they had was tuna. Tuna burger, tuna wrap, tuna and chips... I have nothing against tuna, but they didn't cook it. It was only either raw or seared. I ended up trying the vegan sandwich, which left a...LOT to be desired. Next time I'll scope out the fish selection before committing.More

This little cafe is a gem, basic tables in a pretty setting on the waters edge. Excellent food, friendly, fun, quick service. We'd recommend the fish sandwich which is their signature meal. Delicious and the prices are very reasonable. Recommend you get there early as...they run out of fish most days at the moment due to covid. So good we went there twice. A real bonus second time when we saw a whale breaching in the distance.More

Stopped by for lunch in the rain today and it was fantastic! Super fast service, relaxed surroundings and the seafood was delicious. These guys know how to cook tuna. Will definitely make a repeat visit.

Once again we had to go back to the Mooring. And once again the food was wonderful. The only drawback was the Island fisherman were having a terrible season (not there fault) so far and fresh fish was hard to come by, so it was first...in first served! Although all there other food is very nice it is the famous FOB (Fish on Bread) that most people go there for. Can get very busy at times and because of the lack of fish some days they remain closed, so check before you head around to that side of the island. Staff are fantastic and the prices OK, but as already said it can get very busy so get there before the busy times!More

Having dined in on previous occasions we had 'take out' on this visit to The Rock. This is a MUST DO experience on Raro either dine in or take out. The fish sandwich is large, very tasty and great value for money. The dine in...experience has lots of character and if you get the chance, say hi to the owner. She is a person of great presence and will make you feel very special. Gee, can't wait to go back!More

Delicious! We tried attending on a Monday but they were out of fish, having heard the absolutely wonderful reviews we decided to try again the next day. The next day they had tuna and wow! My partner had the tuna sandwich and I had the...chicken (I’m not a fan of tuna) after trying a bite of my partners burger wow! The tuna was delicious, the chicken was delicious. The salad was fresh, the bread was fresh and the meat/fish was fresh. This is a must try while on the island.More

This food is by far the best on the island! What a treat! We went for the Tacos and the Tijuana! A couple of tips for visiting.... 1. If opening time is at 12pm get there a bit earlier! Fish is caught fresh and when...it's gone it's gone! 2. Be prepared to wait - it's island time after all 3. BYO! No corkage 4. One of you order and the other grab a table! 5. Sharing tables is a thing! And finally, go hungry! We couldn't get pictures of the food.... it went too quick!More

Hi MurphyNZ, Try contacting the restaurant directly. Remember though that Mooring always closes at 3pm, even on the days they are open.

Honestly, mate, I eat everything, so gluten-free isn't a concern of mine. I'd check out their menu online. Hopefully you're headed to the lovely Cook Islands, soon.

Hi there - it is on the opposite side of the island - so about 20 minutes on the bus or about 15 in a car. Too far to walk.
