We were delighted to find somewhere open on good Friday. Food was great were didn't get rushed to order and could have a good break between entree and main.

We had a birthday dinner at this restaurant on Saturday night, 6 adults. The food was delicious, service great, choice great. We all enjoyed it and could not fault it at all. Restaurant was busy at the time but our meals were timely delivered. The sweets were huge and beautifully presented, once again we had about 4 or 5 different... More

We popped in for lunch and opted for the roast which sounded absolutely wonderful. As expected, the service was great from all staff we encountered, but the quality of the food this time was nowhere up to the standard of our several other previous visits. The meat (beef) was quite nice actually, but the veges were bland and had that... More

Booked a table because we thought it would be busy and we were right. Obviously a popular place for celebrations and large groups. The reason being is, they serve great food and the staff are very friendly and efficient. Well worth a visit, I suggest you book

Unfortunately I left my visit to the establishment a bit late. My group enjoyed a last round (or was it two) enlivened by the good natured banter from the excellent bar staff. A bar is only as good as its staff and if this was their usual standard then it is a bar worth visiting.

Had lunch with family. More arrived than we had booked for but it was no trouble to extend our tables. We ordered and the food arrived promptly. We were a large group and every meal we had ordered was tasty, well presented and a good portion size.I would recommend for good meat and fish - most with salad and fries.... More

We were passing through town and needed a decent meal. A table was found for us, the waiter was friendly enough but looked like he wanted to be somewhere else! Food was good, lamb salad lovely with plenty of lamb and dressing on it. Spare ribs very good. Plenty of GF options.

Had to drive from Nelson to Timaru in 1 day so thought we'd stop in Ashburton for dinner on the way. We chose Speights because it's just a consistent classic among kiwi staple restaurants. My fish was great, and loved the amount of garlic butter served with our loaf! On the other hand though, my partner's steak wasn't very good... More

I've eaten here a few times. There are no soft furnishings, curtains or carpet, so it's always quite noisy. The food is plentiful and tasty and I've found the staff welcoming and efficient.
