I don't usually review chains, but we don't have Black Bear Diners close to us, so it's a treat to stop by. The decor is woodsy, and comfortable. Good selections and they serve breakfast and lunch all day. On this trip, I ordered the "small bite" patty melt and chips with side salad. They make their ranch and blue cheese... More

Have eaten at many Black Bears, from Oregon to CA to NV to AZ. Most have met the acceptable level. There's nothing fancy about this BB but if you want a decent meal at an acceptable price, this is the place.

Very busy place, but they know how to handle it. Summer was our waitress, very friendly and efficient. Big portions, fast service and delicious food. Try the bacon... yummy.

Was looking forward to going first time. A lot of recommendations, but we found it a bit slow and expensive. Food was good and nice atmosphere, but could have been much better.

This black bear diner is okay. Been at better ones. The serving sizes are huge. Servers need to have better training. A little slow with refills & checking back.

I like the one in Chandler way better. The chorizo was not that great, but then I always tell my husband, you have to order that from mom and pop places, not a chain restaurant. People were nice and I will not give it a bad rating. I just think it could be a little more up to par. Both... More

We go here every 2-3 months. The food and service is very good and reasonably priced. The down side is that you usually have to wait for a table.

This is a favorite of mine and you will rarely see it empty for breakfast. Even so, getting seated doesn't take long and you never feel cramped. There is lots to choose from on the menu. My favorites are the shredded hash browns and for lunch the club sandwich.

We've never eaten here for anything but breakfast, but why mess with success?! We love this restaurant and have visited others in Arizona. Fantastic food, reasonable prices = highly recommend!

Wow, we were pleasantly surprised to have such a wonderful breakfast. They make their own sausage and this was the first time I had patty sausage that was juicy and properly cooked. The red potatoes were great also. Wait staff was attentive and friendly. Great spot, give it a try.
