We enjoyed our lunch, the food was of good quality and price. Not a fine dining experience, but certainly worth while.

We as a family ventured here for something warm to drink after a festival evening show. The host was welcoming and friendly, the vibe of the place was funky, I regret we not actually have food, but even if you just pop in for a cup of coffee, you will not be dissapointed.

This is one of those restaurants on the high street where you can sit and watch the world pass you by. Very simple, basic menu. Food was decent. Staff were friendly. This is not high end, and it's not intended to be. A great spot to people watch and grab some coffee and a sandwich. That is all.

When the Grahamstown Festival comes around we always use this as our meeting place. And we are never disappointed. It is down to earth with good food and very good service. Looking forward to meeting there again next year.

Interesting decor, lovely relaxed atmosphere and great service at this family run coffee shop. Delicious hot chocolate not to be missed. Lovely stop after an evening show at the Festival for a sherry!

Conveniently situated close to the university - and we found it by chance! The interior space is crammed with tables and chairs; during meal times it can get rather crowded. The staff are friendly and efficient, the food, although nothing to write home about, was tasty enough. We enjoyed the relaxed ambience in Alice's palace and would revisit when next in... More

Madhatters is a great place to sit outside in the sun watching the world go by or sit inside nice and cosy drinking a delicious cup of coffee with a warm bran muffin and cheese, sipping one of the local beers and eating a yummy lunch. The staff are very friendly and efficient and the value is good!
