Hi,as a South African we all enjoy W Cafe, however I would really like to see kitchen staff wearing mouth spit guards for hygiene purposes while preparing ou meals .Our fellow South Africans love to talk while working. Something that all restaurants should consider.
I stopped here several times for an excellent lunch whilst visiting Johannesburg and enjoyed the variety of fresh food available. I also appreciated that they had excellent decaf coffee. See photo of waffles, fresh raspberries and raspberry and vanilla ice cream.
We sat at the bar and just people watched in the mall for about an hour. The food was really good and the prices were reasonable.
This W Cafe used to be really good. They particularly used to gave a good Harvest Table for lunch. Now it is dreadful. The Harvest Table has been pared back to the bare minimum, with cheaper ingredients. A la carte os hardly better. Today my...husband and child and I came here for breakfast. The high chair brought for our baby wasn't clean - we had to clean it ourselves. It took forever to bring our food, and only after we asked about it. It had apparently sat somewhere as it was dry and cold. By that time the baby was screaming. The pulled pork sandwich came with almost no meat and hardly any garnishings - close to inedible. Then we ordered coffee. One was a decaf - I haven't had caffeine in years and have a string physical response to it. It turned put it wasn't decaf and I was trembling for an hour afterwards. We struggled to get a bill as well. Terrible food, terrible service. Never again.More
I had a pleasant experience at the W Cafe. I was at the Rosebank mall to board my City Sightseeing bus for a city tour of Jo'burg and I had 30 mins before my bus could arrive so I walked into the cafe and packed...myself a sandwich for my ride and took a smoothie to go. Both the items were good and I had no regret picking it up. Service was good with a smile and it was not too expensive either.More
Light meal after a shopping day in Rosebank mall. It was the right choice to have a coffee and eat a light meal. Also the cafe offers a range of fresh bakery products that could be also nice for a breakfast at the Mall.
I am addicted to Woolies cappuccino and it is simply sublime. I feel strongly about the inconsistencies in the standard presented at the various branches throughout South Africa regarding the food. This is seriously compromising the Woolworths brand. The outsourced cafes do not live up...to the high standard I love about Woolies and I do not understand how and why this is happening and therefore not better managed? I can quote many examples but one that happened on Saturday is the bizarre situation of being told they do not have croissants when this was the centre piece of the dish I ordered. Furthermore freshly baked croissants were available not 20 meters away at the Woolies bakery or as pre-packaged ones from the shelf! Situations like these make it hard to stay loyal.More
W is for Woolworths, but think more marks and Spencer. We stopped by for a couple of smoothies, and they were very good.
Enjoyed lunch with a client,definitely worth it,they are really trying today be way better than the normal.
What more can I say... one of the Woollies offerings that once again give you that Woollies feel.. and coffee is just out of this world
cheap excellent homemade food. A must for all.And once you are there go into Woolies food section. another must!!!
After a full day of touring, I wanted something different -- not a beer or just a cuppa, but something good. This place had it -- a smoothie and a peanut butter sandwich. That may sound funny, but it is just what I wanted and...this place had it. Plus they had great service and free 30 minute wifi. Can't beat it and I'd go again.More
W cafe always serves a good coffee and a tasty slice of cake . It's good for a meeting or a quick lunch ... in and out . They don't rush you . But it's not a place to linger once you have eaten ....They offer a variety of interesting dishes which are tasty and we'll presented. Staff are always friendly. A nice place to rest wary feet after shopping up a storm .More
I gave this place a try because it appeared to be popular with the locals. The sandwich I ordered was delicious and the latte I ordered was great! Everything appeared to be fresh and well prepared. I really liked this place. Don't make this a...destination, but if you are nearby it is worth a visit.More
We had the lasagna and the chicken stew here for lunch today. This is a busy place, at the entrance of the Rosebank Mall, but the buffet was great, both dishes were excellent.
