Time and again this restaurant is consistently good. We took an Italian guest there for lunch this Sunday and he was not disappointed. My salad "Caesar with smoked salmon" was simply scrumptious, a meal I have developed a craving for! The house Chardonnay is also good The patio with a view is the perfect place to spend a relaxing Sunday... More

Ciao baby restaurants are franchise in South Africa. Good Italian classic and average wine lists. What I like about Ciao baby is the consistency with each restaurant, good quality ingredients and good service. Oh yes and the most important part, it's the homemade ice cream they have! Yummy! Cakes also in case you need one!

The pizza was good but the service wasn't. Fine for a quick meal but not the best place to have a relaxing and social tome.

Had an impromptu dinner at Ciao Baby last night and it was very good. My lamb chops were absolutely delicious - tender, juicy, tasty. It was a simple meal with chips. My wife has here chops well done (which is a waste).... I also had the Creme Caramel which was also super. Nice bottle of Edgebaston Pepper Pot to go... More

Lovely restaurant, very Italian styled. Great atmosphere, homie feeling with Italian face brick interior and dimmed lights. The main course was good, but not wow. Mango Sorbet was fantastic. One criticism: the cutlery was not clean, we had to replace it twice. Hence, lower rating.

It's a pity the staff care so little about their customers because the food is actually quite good. For example, the gelato is easily the best in Joburg but to be greeted with "What do you want?" Is extremely off putting, to then be served what you didn't ask for with nothing more than a dirty look is truly unacceptable.

Ordered a panzerotti pasta and pizza. I had really high hopes given prior franchise experiences. Nothing was particularly bad but it was certainly bland and well below par for what I and my partner expected. The freezachino however was 10/10.

The calamari was old, too long in freezer. Tasted rubbery and off. It was taken away and replaced with a steak that was a better option.

The variety of food on the menu at this establishment satisfies both vegetarian and meat-lovers alike. We had a vegetarian selection of tasty veggies & bread for anti-pasti and bean soup and oven baked ravioli filled with spinach and ricotta for mains. The cheesecake for dessert was a slight let-down after the high standard of the previous courses. I would... More

My husband and I had a focaccia to start, and as a main an excellent sirloin with fries and grilled veggies. Well prepared!
