Great place so much character, so Cape Town .... loved the fish sellers on the corner too. Bobotie and lamb curry the best. Worth a visit.

We made a reservation for our year end team lunch, after long year the team were looking forward to this lunch. Upon arrival we were squeezed into a little corner even though we were the only guest in the venue. We ordered our starters and we informed by the waiter that out of 4 starters only 2 were available, so... More

This cozy intimate dining spot serves up some great authentic South African cuisine offered up with a smile from Grace the owner. My wife and I on vacation from New York City dined there on a Wednesday night and while our meal of pickled fish (recommended by the owner) and oxtails were outstanding, the evening was made all that much... This informal restaurant is tucked away in an assuming spot in Emmarentia but wow, what an experience. The food is delicious, the best that I've tasted in a long time. I had the Denning and Lemon cheesecake for afters - tastes to savour and enjoy. It's a smallish restaurant so best make a reservation before you go. This is a... More

This casual little place is tucked away in a nice informal neighbourhood in Johannesburg. Their service is fantastic. And the curry was the die for. We tried Cape Malay in Bo Kap & other places in South Africa but this is definitely the real deal!

I visit D6 religiously! I have had every single dish on the menu and it's all really amazing. They spend many hours to freshly prepare the dishes every day - most which is slowly cooked for hours which creates the amazing flavors. The owners & staff are great. If you want a taste of real South African cuizine, this is... More

I went here yesterday with my husband and another couple. They had been there before multiple times and insisted we met here for lunch. We are so so glad we did! The food was amazing - we had the waterblommetjies, oxtail, denningvleis and a special consisting of lamb and peas, and it was amazing. Melt of the bone good and... More

Ok place to eat. Service and friendliness was very good. The lamb curry was very tasty and did not have too many bones. Bobotie, was a huge portion and those who ate it said it was very tasty. Wine is served by the glass only but that is ok. It is a Cape Malay eatery and therefore only that kind... More

One of my favourite secrets in Johannesburg. Tasty and country whole meals. The meal choice may be small but exquisite and lovingly prepared. Do not miss the milk tart!!!! Special choice, but small no of meals and tables, so reserve and hurry, to share in a wonderful experience and indulge.

The dish I had at this place was the Cape Malay Lamb Curry which I though was simply delicious. The lamb was very tender and would simply fall off the bone and melt in your mouth. Really loved the bright and colourful ambience of this place.
