We have been visting Cape Town at Christmas & New Year for 18 or so years. We followed the chef from Ginger to Myoga and whilst, in more recent years, we have noticed a tendency towards pretention it has never stopped us from having a reasonable meal there. This year however the menu was so OTT, it would have been... More

FOOD: Mediocre food masked with gimmicky showmanship, foams, sprays (served with delightfully cheap looking plastic travel spray nozzle bottles like those purchased at Clicks/Priceline), dry ice (smoke), melting candyfloss, popcorn (playful but cheap) etc. etc. Food was mainly over salted with very little depth of flavour and overly sugary desserts (I sampled 3- all far too sweet – and I... We love tasting menus and have been to a few! This was one of the best we have ever been to and is surprisingly reasonably priced. For the seven course meal they give you a choice of options (which was a little daunting to begin with), but all were delivered on time and with a flourish. The paired wines were... More

A new chef? A new menu? I am not sure but the the food was poor and the staf did not reflect the grandeur of the veneu. The bad 1) We had to pick all 7 choices at the beginnen, the waiter insisted we pick dessert. 2) the Tuna dish came from the fridge and was way to cold. The... More

Best meal of our trip.. interesting menu, great wine list and fantastic flavours. Not one for kids. Tuna miso and the peanut butter and jam desert were particularly amazing

We attended Myoga following a recommendation and were not disappointed! Thoroughly recommend this restaurant for couples or groups with a passion for good food and wine! We had the taster menu with a wine pairing and were impressed with the setting, the food and the service. Food is extremely creative, delicious and fresh. Amazing service with attentive, knowledgeable and passionate... More

We ate there last night and it really was a disappointment. The wine we ordered wasn't available and apparently hadn't been for some time (but was still on the list). Then 2 of the menus were different (giving a different description of the same dishes). As some of us finished the starters they were cleared from the table while others... More

We had dinner twice at Myoga, the first time we had the 7 course extravaganza and it was fantastic! Don't let the number 7 scare you these are small portions but every morsel is a new and exciting experience for your taste buds and your eyes. Each dish was paired with excellent South African wines. This is a grand experience... More

Dropped into Myoga on arrival at the Vineyard hotel without a reservation. Staff were very welcoming and were able accommodate us for lunch - dinner reservations were fully booked for the next couple of days. This is one of the best meals we have ever had the pleasure of being served. The menu we chose was a 5 course tasting... More

Description
Set in the gracious grounds of the Vineyard Hotel, Newlands Cape Town, Myoga has a very relaxed, engaging atmosphere, where diners are encouraged to feel at home & offers a contemporary fusion cuisine menu which entices the mind, excites the eye and tantalises the taste buds to new extremes. It is what Chef Mike Bassett calls " the four corners menu"
Try the famous eight course tasting menu with a wide variety of choices, you won't be disappointed.
