We took an Aperitif at this restaurant and then just a few tapas before we went for dinner to another restaurant where we had a reservation. We should have never changed, because the service and the light food were so good, we probably would have had excellent dinner too!

This is a place where you can have some descent food. The calamari and hake combo was good from the fried fish side but just average from the fried calamari side. The Thai green curry was good and filling. I tried one oyster, dispaointing for oyster lovers used to French atlantic oceanoysters. Reasonable prices. Nice waiters.

Dear Robin, Sorry to hear that you were disappointed by our fried calamari as well as our oysters. We continuously strive to ensure that all our food is of a high standard. Had a lovely salad here. The roasted butternut squash was fabulous. It was quite a sizeable meal in itself no chips or bread needed. Got a lovely decaf coffee too. My friend very much enjoyed her lunch too

In the heart of Wilderness, a restaurant like this should really give their food a fast lift. The prices are fair but the food is very average, nothing to rave about

We had booked a large party of guys for a 3 course meal of several options. The ostrich carpaccio was over salted. Not nice at all. This was followed by the kudu steak. A first for me and never again. Tough, salty and of no flavour. I should have ordered a burger. The mushroom sauce reminded me of that paste... More

We visited twice, at midday, and enjoyed beer and a light snack. Staff are welcoming, helpful and friendly. Quality food is served and there is a good choice. The restaurant is good for people watching as it is on the roadside in the centre of the town. Street vendors are an added attraction (ladies with wooden bowls and kitchen utensils... More

Nice restaurant in the middle of Wilderness village. Shared some tapas which were on the whole good but not quite great. Our waiter however was brilliant and the service was very good. Would recommend for a light dinner if in the area.

First visit to the Blue Olive, welcome was very friendly and food was excellent. Our group had a range of meals from Oysters, salads and pasta bolognese. Great tapas selection to start or as mains. Great service and will definitely be returning during our stay.

our first breakfast! There was no water in the village and I was told I couldn't have coffee. I offered to buy a bottle of water if it would help. The waiter, who obviously didn't want to be there, brought us two cups of instant coffee and when the bill came, he had charged us R30 for two filter coffees.... More

We were here in the evening and the food was very good but we had to wait a bit too long for our drinks and food to be served.
