Singapore noodles with lovely fresh prawns, ask for them spicy if you like them that way. Sushi pretty good too. Very reasonably priced

The soup was ok, chicken was a bit dry. The veggie spring rols were enormous and full of flavour. The sushi was fresh and fine. The crispy roll was a surprise in texture. I will definitely come back for a quickie...

A very demure looking "Thai" joint on along the road but what a gem! The flavours are fresh and the vegetables were crisp and perfectly cooked. We enjoyed Tom Kha w/veg soup, Calamari and sauce along with chilli & Basil prawns. Excellent meal.

On Sea Point Main Road you'll find a few Asian restaurants all serving mediocre Asian style food. Shin Thai is a typical example of this. Whether it's meat, fish, chicken, beef or pork, it all tastes more ore less the same. A protein, carrots , onions, green peppers, cashew nuts fried up and held together by some or other sauce... Don't be deceived by the outward appearance. We chose this restaurant at the end of a very long day of traveling, because we were tired and hungry. The staff were very polite and helpful, and the food was a joy.

We tried this one night and kept coming back. There are various vegetarian options. The service is friendly and helpful, too.

After a previous review I returned for the all you can eat menu on 13 February. A busy Saturday night, when we arrived early at 18h00 the restaurant was fairly quiet, but by 20h00 was full. We had the all you can eat for R150, and was brilliant. You can a wide selection of Thai food, and also the sushi... More

In a city stuffed with fine dining experiences this street-side restaurant stands out as serving some of the worst food in Cape Town. It was a warm evening and inside it was hot - there were NO fans and the single air conditioner could not cope. After my over salty Thai Tom Yum soup for the first time in my... More

We arrived in Cape Town on New Year's Eve and wanted somewhere to eat before going into the V and A for the celebrations. We came across Shin Thai and were not disappointed. Spotlessly clean, good service and tasty food. Unbelievable value, starters and main courses for four plus two bottles of excellent house wine (sauvignon blanc) came to less... More
