We are regular Cape Town visitors and have been many times to Indochine over the years and always enjoyed the experience as have our guests. The setting and presentation of The Delaire Estate, the architecture, quality art and fittings are unquestionably world class and I recommend it thoroughly so long as you can afford it. We visited on 21/3 for... More

We went to Indochine with friends from England. Three of us ordered Scallops as a starter. When it arrived it was ONE scallop cut in half with two small pieces of cucumber and two very small fish balls (as a filler I guess) swimming in a sea of some green liquid and all served in an enormous white bowl so... We had tried to eat at one of the restaurants at the Delaire Graff estate outside of Stellenbosch and finally we got a lunchtime booking at their Indochine restaurant. Food was superb and exceeded our expectations. Great service from a thoroughly professional team all set in exquisite surroundings with the sculptures outside in the grounds, artwork on the walls, and... More

Indochine serves good food and has a strong wine list. The service is knowledgeable and the setting is beautiful. The problem is that while all of that is true, there are many restaurants in the area that offer better food and similar wine for a much lower price. Even if it were the same price as some of the region's... More

Excellent meal in a beautiful restaurant where we enjoyed lunch on the patio. Its not cheap, infact its very pricey but the menu is interesting and we loved seeing the South African heritage dishes appearing such as bobotie and pap & vleis - done in an elegant way I am sure. I am often asked where one can eat traditional... More

The service was average other than the sommelier who was most helpful and knowledgeable. By comparison with othe first class restaurants in the area the food was an elegant presentation of a mishmash of flavours that could hardly be described as complementary using standard ingredients cooked without flair. The prawn salad starter (R155) consisted of an overwhelming birds nest of... More

Indochine is surrounded by beautiful countryside on a wine farm with commanding views. Staff were friendly and accommodating throughout. I love asian and asian fusion food. Being a gourmand I found the starter and the desert disappointing. The starter consisted of a spicy prawn salad. Unfortunately on it sat a giant black fried onion ball. Why ruin such a lovely... A fabulous lunch in an elegant setting with a gorgeous view. Hard to top that really. We wanted something different to all the other amazing food we'd been eating in the area and Asian was the perfect contrast / change. The sommelier was a wealth of information and obviously enjoyed guiding us through South African wine choices. Their Terraced Block... More

My wife and I were here for a Thursday lunch in Feb. We had booked a couple of months in advance knowing it can be difficult to get a table but it was definitely worth the wait. The environment and service are excellent. Wayne was our waiter and a friendly and attentive chap he was. The food and wine are... More

This is what I wrote to the restaurant following a really disappointing lunch. "We had lunch in your Indochine Restaurant on last Sunday. Unfortunately the food was a great disappointment. The service and the atmosphere were great, but the food was not up to standard. Let me give you our views on everything we ate : The wooden platter and... More
