A delightful family run restaurant serving the nest peri peri chicken ever. I opted for no spice, my friends opted for medium...just the best

Tripadvisor reviews lead to this one... but it was not a good experience. The Owner and Staff are nice people, no doubts on that... so maybe it was an isolated situation, but all of us did not like our food

Having to stay overnight in Tomar, we wanted to have a traditional local meal. Avoiding the "restaurants for tourists", and those close to the river bench, we walked into the small streets in the back. There, after turning a corner, we found this place. The owner smiles and jokes kindly. He recommended his matured cheese in olive oil. It is... More

We stopped in Tomar on our way to a week's holiday in Paredes Beach-Pataias and made the right choice to eat here. The cod and the chicken were both excellent, the lemon mousse the best I have tasted, and the waitress perfect.

Ate here on a Sunday night as many other restaurants closed. Glad we did. Ordered soft cheese and olives for starters both of which were very tasty. Mains were the traditional cod Bacahlau dish which is similar to a loose rosti mixed with cod (fabulous) and suckling pig served with a mix of cabbage, asparagus ... Also very tasty. Service... Piri Piri is famous for its special marinated & then grilled chicken, you’ve never had chicken like this. Delicious! They run quickly so its best to call ahead and make sure they put one or two whole chickens on the grill for you. Yum, I cannot wait to go back! The owner is very kind and attentive, They've won numerous... More

This restaurant has been in the historical centre of Tomar for many years. Consistency can also be a virtue. The menu is coherent and has minor changes here and there. Fish or vegetable soup. Grilled fish. Local and regional wines. Always nice to experience authentic Portuguese food.

It's located in the city center and it's a simple restaurant with a typical decor . Food is very tasty. Try the shrimp curry ( not portuguese at all but the owner lived in Mozambique ,so it 's done the right way). The pork is also quite good and the shrimp. Prices are cheap and the portions are big, so... More

Though the food is o.k. we do not visit this restaurant regularly now as the service is so slow. We went just after 7pm (when they open) and were the first people in. As we were hungry, we ordered the soup as well as the main course. The soup arrived at 7.45pm! Then the main meal arrived after 8pm. There... More

I have eaten here many times and always am impressed by the charm of the staff. The food is pretty basic but well cooked. They have a starter option of a cheese that matures in a jar of olive oil, the cheese is strong and has a unique flavour worth trying.
