We ate here with friends. The service was great, the food was fantastic. Nice view of the canal. We ordered the seafood bbq and shared it between 4 of us, it was plenty, and delicious. Definite recommendation

We asked for a table inside because it was extremely hot outside. However, the air conditioning had very little effect and they sat us at a table underneath a lightbulb that was flickering. Since my wife suffers from migraine, we decided to move outside. Grumpily, they set us up outside. The three wines by the glass were all Chardonnays and... More

When the almost €10 cubierto bread arrives and is tale you should probably leave straight away. The gin and tonic is made at the table and consists of 1/2 glass of gin and you add your own tonic and costs almost €14. Your barely make it through an awful opener and cannot eat the main course (both of us) it... More

I was here for lunch. The food is good but the pasta was over cooked which is a common problem outside Italy.

Our fairly large tour group came here for lunch after touring the City in the morning. Very nice place, they handled the group very well. As it was part of the package, I don't know about value.

Went without reservation on a Saturday evening. We were offered a glass of champagne while waiting for our table. They have an extensive menu, good food, very big portions and relatively good prices for the location. Friendly staff, all in all a nice experience.

Everybody is aware of the hustle that big celebrations make. But Sorrento stuff coped with it and we enjoyed the evening. The location on the canal of the Puerto de la Plata, facing the Santiago Calatrava's "Woman's Bridge", just in front of the Corvette Uruguay, all the lights of the city, reflections in the water, italian food- what more?

We capped off a day of walking through Recoleta, La Boca, Centro, San Telmo and Palermo with dinner at Puerto Madero's Sorrento Italian restaurant. We are Italian American from N.Y. and can be very picky. This was the real deal. We started with the Buffalo mozzarella. Delicious! My wife then had spinach ravioli and I had cheese ravioli with prosciutto... More

I really enjoy going there. I think the food is delicious, excellent service, great location and ambience and an incredible view. I always order pasta and flan (creme caramel), but I think they changed the flan recipe and I liked the former one 😬. Must go!

Sorrento is one of the many restaurants along the river in Puerto Madero. We decided to go Italian as a change of pace from all the meat and were not disappointed. Sit outside on the large patio and your view of boats, people and water will be a nice bonus to the meal. We ordered a garlic shrimp appetizer that... More

Staying in Puerto Madero

Neighbourhood Profile
Puerto Madero
From its refurbished red brick buildings and port cranes to its modern skyscrapers and luxurious apartment buildings, Puerto Madero is the perfect combination of old and new. The river provides a quiet, relaxing atmosphere that contrasts with the hustle and bustle of heavy traffic just blocks away. Across the river, flanked by skyscrapers, are beautiful parks and quiet streets that make this neighbourhood a unique destination in a city as busy as Buenos Aires. The restaurants, bars, and nightclubs on the docks make it a prime spot for nights out and have come to symbolise this area. Puerto Madero is even more striking after dark, when the lights from the docks and skyscrapers glow against the night sky.
