The food and service in Morrina Portena are outstanding. It is fine dining without the pretentious surrounds. The mix of Argentinian food and Spanish (Galicia, Catalunya...) leaves nothing to be desired. Great seafood in Argentina is a rarity. Here it is in their blood. I have had Argentinian steaks in many restaurants in BA and this is as good as... More

We had a nice lunch, starting with a Spanish tortilla (omelette), then a seafood paella...both very generous portions even when shared. Pleasant enclosed patio for dining if you opt for outside rather than the dining room.

Excellent food, great service, pleasant atmosphere, fair prices. What else can you ask for? We shared a tapa and then a seafood dish. There was plenty to eat. The waiter was very helpful and knowledgeable about the food of Galicia.

First of all, this restaurant is located in Belgrano, on Olleros between Luis Maria Campos and Libertador avenues. I had agreed to meet an Argentinian friend there, who had proposed the place, and was VERY hesitant due to the poor reviews I read here. I had no need to be. Everything was fantastic. Due to a long holiday weekend where... More

Staying in San Telmo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Telmo
Characterized by cobblestones and narrow streets, San Telmo is defined by the tango, the dance that made Buenos Aires world-famous. Tango is a fusion of many different cultures: a true child of immigration, much like the city itself. Nowadays, it comes alive after dark in the milongas (dance parties) attended by both locals and visitors alike, who dance until the wee hours of the morning. During the day, the antique shops and classic cafés and bars around Plaza Dorrego dominate the scene. The emblematic Bar Plaza Dorrego, with its green awnings, checkered tile floors, and wooden interiors, takes you back in time the moment you step inside. For true porteño traditions, San Telmo is the place to be.
