Now this is an amazing local Parrilla (Steak house) that you must try if you like local culture and amazing food. This will not be like a 5 star upscale restaurant experience but is definitely like a 5 star local bistro type of feel. The food is amazing, the management and personnel are great and the décor, while simple, is... More

We had a great dinner at Parrilla Peña at a reasonable price. The "bife de chorizo" was grilled to perfection, juicy, tender and delicious. The salad we ordered to accompany the beef was much better than the tasteless salads we had at other restaurants in Argentina. I am glad we went there early, because the place filled up quickly and... More

Local not fancy. Best tiramisu we ever had. Real Argentine beef. We ordered rare, and that's how it came. As one of the locals said, the only problem is they don't serve coffee.

My wife and I had steak here on our first night in Buenos Aires. We had different cuts - but both were excellently prepared and needed nothing else. It's clear that most here are locals, as they enter with a nod to the owner. The kitchen is open - always a good sign. No reservation needed. Well priced. One of... More

I have had the best meal ever in this restaurant. I have never tasted such a juicy and tasty meat as the beef de chorizo at this restaurant. Also, service is very efficient and friendly. They greet with complimentary empanadas and bread. Prices are affordable and the portions are huge. A beef the chorizo serves 2. We didn't try deserts.... More

I was recommended to go here by some locals, and it didn't disappoint. The atmosphere is casual no frills sort of place, and the staff were patient and friendly. We ordered some empanadas, grilled provoleta, bife de lomo (tenderloin) and bottles of malbec - it was a great evening!! It gets crowded so make sure you get there early.

Parrilla Peña is what we porteños call a bodegón, meaning you will not find a trendy decor inside. But what you will find is first quality barbeque with good portions of side dishes. Mashed potatoes, salads and french fries are really good. The service is quick. It is a bit noisy. Very good value for money. Don't miss it. Only... More

This place was recommended by a friend - turned out to be a major disappointment. The food was really bad (had the short ribs which were full of cartilage, and deep fried in oil which was seeping out). No taste either. In fact the complimentary empanada had more flavor. Also, service was very very slow. Will not be visiting this... More

The atmosphere of this parrilla is authentic and charming. The staff were lovely and patient with my very basic Spanish. The meat was excellent and very good value! I would definitely recommend Parrilla Pena to anyone looking to taste some authentic Argentine parrilla!

While the ribeye steak and the empanadas were great everything else didn't quite meet my expectations (did a lot of reading trip advisor reviews to find a good traditional restaurant). No problem with the Malbec wine our waiter picked for us. I had read how awesome the grilled provolenta cheese was but found it salty and not my thing. Had... More
