I visited the other location at Avenida Corrientes for dinner just a few years ago. This time I was at the Lavalle location for lunch. The service was superior to most other places, which was a pleasant surprise. Food was fantastic, the variety of "papas fritas" or "french fries" is very interesting. Highly recommended.

At Lavalle Street near Avenida Corrientes, a nice place to have a good meal and drink some beers. French fries are the main food, but you can choose meat or pasta.

Back in BA and, on our first night, decided to come here. We first came here with some Argentine friends, more than 37 years ago (although can't remember whether the restaurant was on Lavalle or Corrientes). Still as good. The Papas Soufle are a must, especially with Bife de Chorizo washed down with with a few glasses of Quilmes beer.... More

Beef and potatoes were tasty. The place was not crowded and the service was great. Unfortunately, the pasta was simply okay. This restaurant was accepting cash only during our visit.

Spectacular potatoes. Patented proprietary technique to make puffy , perfect , potatoe chips. Solid other dishes. Very reasonably priced entrees and wine. Great panqueque de dulce de leche.

You have to bypass the first approach of the server as it may seem a bit harsh but once your order is in for the " Menu del Palacio" you do not want to leave!! Recommended.

Have been to this restaurant many times and it never disappoints. Excellent service and prices reasonable. Food is very good. No credit cards accepted. Centrally located, couple blocks from Florida.

I traveled to Buenos Aires many times in the 70's and 80's while working for a large multinational bank. Every trip I would eat steak one day and Italian food the next. I always enjoyed El Palacio de la Papa Frita. It is a classic dining hall. It isn't fancy, but the steaks and papas are absolutely to die for.... More

My local friends had taken me to this restaurant at the original location on Calle Corrientes. They featured the best fried calamari I've ever had in my life! They told me the secret is they marinade the calamari in milk for a day which makes it melt-in-your-mouth tender. As it happened, I was across town and saw they had another... More

This place is known for its fried potatoes "souffle" and that's what went there to try. We also had a milanesa napolitana (veal schnitzel with tomato sauce, ham and cheese), and a salad. The food was as expected, normal home-cooked argentinean food. The prices are according to what you get so no complaints.
