The place is crowded, 2 tables for two each less than a foot apart down both sides of the place. Ordered a wine which turned out acid, they charged fopr it anyway, but corked it and took it away.. The meat with vegetables was unedible - so hard I could not chew it. The vegetables OK: NO dessert, overpaid and... More

We went for food with my nephew and niece and sat upstairs. Overall the food was ok but the service extremely poor. There were only two waiters that night and they didn't show any enthusiasm or interest at all. They never engaged in conversation and when asked about the different choices the answers were cut short. We would have had... More

From the outside this restaurant looked pretty good, the service was prompt and friendly. However the food appears to be made by someone who has only heard about Mexican food but never actually eaten it! Bland tacos and enchiladas containing only chicken despite the menu stating a mix with veg. The margaritas contained very little alcohol or mixer, entirely ice.... More

Good service, very average food and drink. The burrito was tiny and just had a bit of unflavored mince inside. Was expecting more ingredients, size and flavor for $18 US. Chicken meal was a grilled piece of chicken with potatoes on the side. Nothing else. Mojhitos had so much sugar syrup I had to water them down.

This is a typical average Mexican restaurant. Decent margaritas, ok food but not really tasty. The mole was slightly spicy but very dry, as was the chicken. Fajitas were good but again sauces were average. Why not if you're around but certainly not worth a detour.

This is not mexican food at all. Ate here twice and none of the dishes we ordered looked or tasted as they are supposed. This cheff and owner has no idea what mexican food is. Prices are reasonable. Atmosphere is nice. Service was friendly

I loved this place. It is decorated with an interesting chandelier made of corn. The waiter approached immediately. He spoke enough English to communicate with us. He took our marg orders and while we were waiting brought us a frozen (free) drink that was excellent. He suggested the pork and shrimp fajitas, and they were delicious. The tortillas were very... I live in a city with hundreds if not thousands of mexican restaurants. We ate at El Salto last night and I have to say we ate the best frahitas I've ever tasted. We had the pork and shrimp combination and a couple of margs. Everything was cooked to perfection and the tortillas were out of this world. The service... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Characterised by the French-style mansions which are the legacy of its aristocratic past, Recoleta is the true “Paris of the South.” Walking around this neighbourhood is an experience like no other in Buenos Aires: its streets are lined with elegant apartment buildings, exclusive boutiques, and former mansions turned into high-end hotels and embassies, which exude an alluring air of sophistication and class. You'll also find a rich cultural scene centred on the National Museum of Fine Arts, the National Library, and the Recoleta Cultural Center; as well as some great shopping spots, like the Buenos Aires Design Mall with an artists' fair set up in Plaza Francia every weekend.
