If you are hungry for steak this is a great place to visit. There were no green veggies when I was there because it was their winter time but the beef was fantastic.

We tried to go to fuerza bruta and because of traffic got there too late to see the show so decided to go for food in the area instead... simply, I wish we hadn't. We were a group of 8 and lured in by the open grill you can see from the street, unfortunately we didn't take heed of the... More

I stopped by the Ranch while I was passing through Recoleta and I enjoyed the food very much. Business was booming inside and out during lunch and service was OK. The giant open faced grill is what made me stop in and try it out. Even though I was tired of steaks and chops I still went with a meat... More

We have walked past here before and been put off by the lack of customers and the tout out the front who tries to rope you in. However, we are staying Recoleta for a week and did not realise that Christmas Eve was the big evening of celebration. Consequently, we had not organised anywhere for dinner. The Ranch was the... Walking around and tried this place, we had eye fillet steak, it was BIG but QUALITY was very ordinary. Location is very nice, service was slow. I had to wave my arms around to get someone to finally get us our bill, when it arrived we were overcharged 210 paso ($30AUD) for our wine. They said it was an accident... More

I don't write bad reviews, but this place deserve it. Worst than "Terrible"! The worst steak and fries that I've ever had in Buenos Aires. The most expensive dinner that I had in Buenos Aires and the most mediocre service that I have in Buenos Aires. Please, please find another place to eat, nobody deserve this.

I only went in there because I was tired and saw the grill. I had the chicken with fries. The chicken was dribbling with water/fat and I could only eat 1/4 of it. The fries were full of fat and I could only eat a few. The service was OK but the place was dirty with a chipped plate and... More

I am really surprised to read all the bad reviews of this place. We had lunch for 5 in the Montana Ranch restaurant across the way from the Recoleta Cemetery. My only complaint would be that it was one of the more expensive* restaurants we've eaten at in BsAs. ($140 US.) Between the group we had the grilled cheese appetizer,... More

So the location is good, as other reviewers have stated. That's about the end of the positive comments. It started with being seated, and the first thing I get is the offer from the resident lout to do a currency exchange. And not even on good terms! Then the food came. A classic steak frites was ordered. And credit to... More

This place looked OK and the location, just opposite Recoleta cemetery is lovely. This was all that was good. We ordered two rib eye steaks and both were fatty and full of grissle such as ligaments and tough fibrous bits that we couldn't chew through. We asked the waitress which sides were included with the meat (we have done very... More

Staying in Recoleta

Neighbourhood Profile
Characterised by the French-style mansions which are the legacy of its aristocratic past, Recoleta is the true “Paris of the South.” Walking around this neighbourhood is an experience like no other in Buenos Aires: its streets are lined with elegant apartment buildings, exclusive boutiques, and former mansions turned into high-end hotels and embassies, which exude an alluring air of sophistication and class. You'll also find a rich cultural scene centred on the National Museum of Fine Arts, the National Library, and the Recoleta Cultural Center; as well as some great shopping spots, like the Buenos Aires Design Mall with an artists' fair set up in Plaza Francia every weekend.
