I had a reservation, confirmed and printed, with 20% discount. The Attendant at the desk said my name was not on the list, that due to a limited menu she could not respect the 20% discount, and gave us a table out of pity. Many tables few waiters, long waits. A restaurant with that name that on the first page... More

They don't bother to open on time. The service and food is incredibly slow, however, they make a great omelette!

Here's the skinny on this attractive little corner café. I told my group that this place is way to cute and authentic-loking to pass up so there for breakfast we went. I swear it took 45 minutes for our food but you know how we all exaggerate when we are hungry - so let's just agree that it took forever... More

This place may be better in the afternoons for pastries etc but for breakfast it lacks just a little something. Perhaps menu options. Staff are friendly and it has a reasonable feel but there are better choices close by for breakfast. That wont stop me going back for coffee or afternoon aperitivo however.

Reminiscent of a French corner store, this unpretentious Palermo bistro, operates as a café during the day, serves up excellent genuine French food at reasonable prices. The menu is long, French, and covers everything from snacks and (creative) sandwiches to cocktails and specialty coffees. Typically French and rare in Buenos Aires, the house pâté is coarse and meaty, served with fresh... More

El Frances was a few blocks away from our hotel, and we were recommended there for breakfast. We went several times (including on Christmas Day, when they were magically open.) It's like stepping into a French Cafe from 50 years ago; newspapers on racks to read while nursing a delicious cup of coffee. My husband had the best milk shake... More

We went for dinner. To start with, the lady behind the bar that opened the door with the buzzer hurried back inside behind her counter instead of pointing us to a table. Even though she looked like the person running things there. I ordered the Coq au vin as I was in the mood for a classic french dish. To... More

We ate dinner here late at night, and it was okay. The salads were fine -- nothing special, just average and overpriced (about $10 depending on the exchange rate of the day for a dinner salad). We tried to eat breakfast here as it was included in our hotel stay at a different place. However, the waitress informed us that... More

Ate here for breakfast 2 days whilst staying in BA. The value for what you get is really good, we payed $42 pesos p/person and got an orange juice, coffee, scrambled eggs and your choice of french toast or croissants. The staff were friendly and they even let us leave the restaurant to get money as the visa was down,... More

Staying in Palermo

Neighbourhood Profile
Palermo
Best known as the largest neighbourhood in Buenos Aires, Palermo is divided into different quarters, each with its own unique identity. The high-end quarter is Palermo Chico, characterized by magnificent mansions, regal avenues, and exclusive apartment buildings, and home to the Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires (MALBA), a favourite amongst locals. The largest park in the city, the Bosques de Palermo, is Palermo's most famous landmark and a popular destination for nature walks, picnics, rollerblading, and cycling. The scene becomes much trendier in Palermo Soho, a hip area known for its cool cafés and unique design stores, filled with shoppers on weekends; and Palermo Hollywood, renowned for the numerous restaurants, bars and nightclubs, which make it the preferred spot for nights out and special occasions.
