Went to this restaurant on the recommendation of our tour leader after visiting the Recoleta Cemetery. A delightful setting with seating inside and out - although you pay more for if you sit outside - maybe they have to carry it further! Although it may be a little expensive by Buenos Aires standards, we were quite happy with the value.... More

This place it's a "MUST VISIT" in your stay in La Recoleta (Buenos Aires City), a lot of history happened in this place. talking about food the place was always well known for its "Lomito La Biela". Prices are quite high but worth it. You can eat outside for and extra charge, and I really don't understand why they overcharge... More

It's close to recoleta cemetary. You have options to sit inside and outside. But prices are not worth to the goods. For examle, if you pay ten dollars for little piece of brownie , you're expecting that it must be worth it. Brownie was dry as hell. Briefly la biela is overrated.

Actually we wanted to go to another restaurant as La Biela is a touristic hot spot and an expensive place. But as a hard rain was falling we stepped in - and were disappointed: the meat dry, the pasta poor, the salad weak, the prices high. At least, it's a interesting place for car racing lovers and for studies of... More

After a walk through Recoleta cemetery, we stopped here for gin and tonics. Sitting outside and people watching let us experience a bit of the life in Buenos Aires. Nice spot for drinks and snacks.

La Biela offers the best location in Buenos Aires. You can sit and relax at a table and watch many visitors and tourists. The bar offers excellent service a wide variety of local and international beers and some good food both international and locally flavoured...

Had coffee and a snack at this classic coffee house in upscale neighborhood. Coffee was good and so was service. Beautiful patio under large Banyon/Gomero tree. Great place!

We ordered a Bife de Chorizo and the waiter brought french fries with it as if it was part of the meal, however when we paid the bill they were charging us extra for the french fries. Obviously it was a move to make us pay more. Very unfortunate. Wouldn't recommend.

We enjoyed a pleasant afternoon drinking well chilled beer and taking in the ambiance. We did a lot of people watching and took note of the satisfied responses of customers to the well presented and obviously tasty meals served up.

Stopped here to recover from the heat before moving onto Recoleta cemetry. Good coffee - served at the table so you can decide how much milk you want. My wife had delicious freshly squeezed lemon juice. Recommended.

Staying in Recoleta

Neighbourhood Profile
Characterised by the French-style mansions which are the legacy of its aristocratic past, Recoleta is the true “Paris of the South.” Walking around this neighbourhood is an experience like no other in Buenos Aires: its streets are lined with elegant apartment buildings, exclusive boutiques, and former mansions turned into high-end hotels and embassies, which exude an alluring air of sophistication and class. You'll also find a rich cultural scene centred on the National Museum of Fine Arts, the National Library, and the Recoleta Cultural Center; as well as some great shopping spots, like the Buenos Aires Design Mall with an artists' fair set up in Plaza Francia every weekend.
