We had done a lot of sightseeing by foot in Buenos Aires and just wanted a quick supper, after visiting the famous Recoleta cemetery; nothing fancy. La Biela has air conditioned restaurant plus an outside patio which we chose. The menu was varied. There was...More

Came upon this cafe upon walking back to our hotel in the Recoleta neighborhood. It had quite a crowd, so we figured it would be a good choice for refreshments. Word of notice, you pay more to sit outside. We came on multiple occasions, for...More

After visiting the Colon Theater (Teatro Colon) in Byenos Aires, my wife and I stopped by the famous La Biela café for something cold to drink. We requested each a lemonade which, unexpectedly, turned out to be a glass of very sour lemon juice accompanied...More

A tourist trap with extremely overpriced poor quality food. The place is ok but prices are unrealistic for the economy of the country. My friend ordered the “la biela salada” without paying attention on the price. When came the bill the huge surprise of a...More

We just wanted a light lunch after spending a couple of hours at Recoleta Cemetery. This was a perfect place to sit outside under the shade of umbrellas and people watch. We shared a small pizza and an order of frites. Service was perfect and...More

This is a very traditional place at the heart of the Recoleta district. However, the place lost its "grandeur". It is outdated. It needs renovation and its staff needs to learn about customer services. It was hard to get the attention of waiters to take...More

This is listed as one of the must-see coffee houses. It was a great experience. Recommend the chicken salad with hearts of artichoke. A place to sit, eat or drink coffee slowly and just observe and feel the ambience.

Characterised by the French-style mansions which are
the legacy of its aristocratic past, Recoleta is the
true “Paris of the South.” Walking around this
neighbourhood is an experience like no other in Buenos
Aires: its streets are lined with elegant apartment
buildings, exclusive boutiques, and former mansions
turned into high-end hotels and embassies, which exude
an alluring air of sophistication and class. You'll
