This restaurant was the only bad eating experience in a month of travel in South America. When we arrived, we were repeatedly ignored by the wait staff despite the restaurant being less than half full. Once we ordered, we had hoped the at least the beverages would arrive quickly; we had to seek them out. One of the diners with... More

I am being generous with my rating, because this place is better than the average that one expects to find in a roadside diner (which is also popular with the locals). We ate here in 2012 on our first visit to Argentina, when we enjoyed excellent barbecued chicken. We looked forward to a good rest and resto after the tedious... More

We went in for a light lunch and ordered 4 empanadas and a ensalada complete (lettuce, beets, carrots, tomatoes, and eggs. Great choice, filled but not overstuffed. Great dining space inside, nice sidewalk dining; the grill is inside. Waitress friendly, helpful, and efficient. A fine choice in Uspallata.

We were on a guided tour of the Andes and Uspallata is about the only place to eat. But we were glad the tour selected El Rancho. It was a Sunday afternoon and the place was packed. A classic Parilla with the open fire grill right in the dining room. We had the assorted parilla for our lunch and it... More

Arrived with my family after travelling the country, for your final stop before heading to Chile...stumbled accidentally across El Rancho and originally decided to stay for lunch due to their cheap beer prices....so glad we did! Victor Hugo was our waiter...by the end of our meal we didn't want to leave, mostly due to him and his antics. Really made... More

We visited here on our way into the Andes. A fab find. We were early for lunch so not many people were in when we got there, but the restaurant quickly filled. We had a traditional asado which was just lovely - even my son who doesn't eat steak enjoyed it. It came with a lovely salad. We also enjoyed... More

Good place to eat a grilled beef - try the lomos, the ribs and the pollos. Very good staff, including a nice waiter who speaks a bit of Portuguese.

After a day in the mountains we stopped here for a late lunch. We had the traditional barbeque which was excellent.

Arrived here ravenous after a day at the Aconcagua Provincial Park and found it crowdy and vibrant. Veal Milanesacwe ordered was fine although nothing special, salad was good, beer cold. Their grill was on, loaded with meat, so assume it's a great place for a parilla.
