Best meal we've had in Costa Rica was here. Typical local food really tasty and so reasonable compared to places on the coast. Seafood cream soup - huge bowl with a while crab in it! Seafood rice - huge portion and loaded with seafood. Batidos to die for - try the Guanabara for 1000 colones. I just wish it was... More

Out for a drive to explore the region, Restaurante Valle Encantado drew us in thanks to its great view. The added bonus was a copious and very tasty lunch. We sampled the "Arroz de la casa": flavoured rice with seafood, chicken and many other yummy things. One serving would have been more than enough for two people, but we both... More

Owner Tony was a most gracious host, and our impromptu coffee stop turned into the best breakfast I've ever eaten in Costa Rica, and what a beautiful view! In addition, Tony's recently completed cabinas are well-outfitted, and extremely reasonably-priced.

We were on our way to Rio Magnolia Lodge and decided to stop in for a little bite of breakfast. I decided to have Arroz con Camarone for breakfast and it was so amazing that we came back two days later so I could have it again for lunch! The views are over the valley are beautiful, the wait staff... More

Went a couple of times for dinner. Beautiful view of the landscape of San Isidro especially at night. Nice restaurant and great for people of all ages. It was so nice to see couples and families with young children. I don't recommend the salad (too vinegary) but menu choices were otherwise delicious. I can't pronounce if spell what I had... More

We were driving from San Isidro del General to the Pacific coast, and this place caught our eye so we stopped for lunch. A typical open air restaurant located right next to the highway, with a view of an agricultural valley bisected by a river far below, and even as far as San Isidro. Food was excellent, service was perfect,... More

We recently spent 15 days in CR and this restaurant was an oasis in a desert of generally overpriced and overcomplicated food. The food was delicious, inexpensive and simple. It has breathtaking views, clean kitchens and friendly service. If you are ever passing - we were on route from San Isidro to Manuel Antonio - make an effort to eat... More
