On recent trip to Grand Canyon and historic Williams, we spotted Rod's Steak House and decided to give it a shot. We ordered prime rib and bacon wrapped filet mignon. The meal was served with either fresh, cold salad or soup of the day. Both dishes were cooked to perfection! The filet was thick cut and so was the prime... More

Wanted to take my friend to a "old fashioned western steak house". This looked like a good place and the sign said they cook with mesquite. So disappointing. The steak was all gristle. Could barely cut it with a sharp knife. Potato dry, salad stringing. And it was expensive for all this food.

Had our evening meal here and it was excellent. We both had salad and dressing starter followed by sirloin steak my wife had baked potato and I had the fries. The salad was fresh the steak cooked as requested and was tender, the baked potato was well cooked and moist the fries were good. The service we received was very... More

Despite it's long history and self promotion, Rod's is an average and overpriced eatery. Out steaks were ordered medium rare and arrived at the table well done. The baked potato was ordered with butter and it came with two tiny pads. The bill for two came to almost $70. A meal at Denny's would have been prepared better at less... More

I had a late lunch at Rod's recently and it was just as good as I remember. I have been stopping for lunch at this Route 66 restaurant for 30 years and I know I can count on it. It's been around since 1946. I had a steak burger with wedge fries and it was tasty. I think they use... More

Lunch special was chopped sirloin. Huge piece smothered in onions and gravy. Mash potatoes are made fresh with a side of fresh green beans. Excellent waiter. The plate was over flowing

I stopped in here on our way back from Grand Canyon for two reasons. One, my first name is Rod and I wanted a good steak and heard it was "famous". Andrea the waitress was told that half the steak was gristle and her response? "I don't know". No hold and I'll talk to my manager or what can I... More

I read a lot of reviews on this restaurant and it sure seems people love this restaurant or hate it. We were almost afraid to try it. But we did and the food was great. I had trout and mom had a steak. My trout was cooked just right. Her steak was tender and nicely seasoned. The salad was large... More

We ate here on our stay in Williams during our Grand Canyon trip. Its a classic/vintage steakhouse and that is what I loved about it. The food was very good and good prices.

All the food was so bad - we paid $70 for dinner and walked away hungry because it wasn't even worth eating. Claim Chowder: Watery, no flavor at all (probably the best part of our meal). Bread: Clearly had freezer burn....tasted funny....butter it came with was cold so it wouldn't spread. Fried Cod: Batter was not even fried all the... More
