Very amazing place on the way to Fortuna. The view was amazing, sweet family that ran the place. For vegetarians the options were rice/bean and French fries.
Must stop here! It’s was an amazing stop and help the kids break the trip from Liberia to Fortuna in a scenic place.

We have eaten at La Tortuga for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It is a lovely venue, with expansive roof and open air seating. There's a great view of Lake Arenal and a photo op with the lake's name in meter+ high letters. The food is fresh, reasonably priced and delicious! Service is great as well. Also, if you just need a coffee break they have a variety of cakes and coffee available! The restaurant is across the road from the lake with good parking; between Nuevo Arenal and La Union.

Our extended family of 22 had a delicious meal at La Tortuga. Multiple courses finely presented that thoughtfully accommodated various dietary needs. Tropical drinks, salads, soup, entrees, and deserts. Gracious staff. Lovely event. Feliz Navidad!

We got really good food, fresh tilapia, barbeque ribs and fried bananas overlooking the lake.
But there were also really many birds, tukanes and colibries etc.
But first and foremost we got really many good advice for the area, stories about the place and contacts for guides.

On our trip from Monteverde to Arenal we have stopped here for lunch after having seen the busy Cafe y Macadamia which was previously recommended to us. So lucky that we have left that place and finally have come to Restaurante La Tortuga Arenal!
It´s a family run restaurant - very good size, not too big. Stunning garden and partial view of Lake Arenal! Not only the location and the atmosphere of this restaurant is very nice - the food is great and the value for money is fair. The staff is very friendly and professional. We felt so well here.

What a great spot! The restaurant itself was so well done. It was apparent they put lots of love and care into building this establishment. Everything was clean and new and up to date! The service was friendly and inviting, even though we were late on a Sunday before closing time. The food was very yummy and what you would expect. Fish was fresh (and not “fishy” tasting at all). Steak had a special seasoning on it to make it unlike others. Home made desserts topped it off! The view of the lake is special, no doubt. Parking is free and safe since there is nothing else around. Highly recommend this place!

The ambiance was wonderful with outdoor and covered seating with an ideal view of the sunset and very clean. The food was homemade and traditional, the best stop on our trip.
The restaurant is locally owned and it was nice to support a local business over the many tourist traps. Overall a special and yummy dining experience.

Great location overlooking the Arenal Lake. Food was incredibly fresh and flavorful. The land was originally the owner’s family farm and now is converted into this beautiful family operated restaurant. A must stop on your way towards or back from La Fortuna! One of the best Casado plates I’ve have in Costa Rica.

Perfect place for Lunch and View. Great food, awesome Rice with Chicken. They have vegetarian options. If you are into real spicy food, ask for real spicy sauce. For desert Macadamia pie with ice cream is unique at this place.

Friendly staff. Showed us the toucans and other birds that hang out at the view side of the restaurant. Had a good chat with him.
Very good meal. Had the house special pescado "La Tortuga" fish and large tasty chicken casado. The macadamia pie was also wonderful.

We had an amazing late lunch at La Tortuga
Hairol was a great host and offered up a wealth of local knowledge and was even willing to let me borrow his kayaks and paddle boards the next morning. But it proved a l little windy to take him up in it. The food , drinks , vibe , service , and sunset were incredible. I had been scoping this place out for months as a great stop off between Nuevo Arenal and La Fortuna and it did but disappoint. The best part is I made a friend in Hairol!

Sunset over the lake, pina coladas, great pepper steak and chuleta! We had a gracious host who told us about the birds he attracted: toucans, chachalacas, YigĂĽirro, etc. What more can one ask for? Oh yeah, great coffee recommendation!

This was a beautiful spot for lunch! The view was amazing! The food was delicious and a great value for the amount of food. The servers spoke English which I’m always grateful for but don’t expect when travelling. We would definitely come again!

Top-rated restaurants in the area. The view, the employees and THE FOOD, everything is fabulous. The place is clean and tidy, the music is relaxing and in ambient volume. Free WiFi is available and prices are super good for quality food.
