You know what they say? Seize every opportunity and 'milk' it for all its worth! Okay, okay enough with the cow jokes. But I cannot be 'cow'ardly with this review. Okay seriously I'll stop. This restaurant was not what one expects when the host of the rather budget guest house your staying in recommends the 'cow-shed' down the road for... More

I had to convince my wife to go there, o boy, we were surprised! This place is so nice, with a view in to the cowshed, relaxed athmospere and nice staff. I have to mention the beer, Kaldi from the draft was unbelievably good. Everybody in the group were happy with their food, burgers, local bread, char, "hangikjöt", cake, homemade... More

Choose to sit at tables with a view of the cows in the milking parlor behind glass or the natural beauty of craters around Lake Myvatn. The food was authentic northern Iceland, delicious and served in very generous portions. Soup of the day included the local geyser bread*,moist and flavorful with fresh cream butter. The lamb shank was so tender... More

Typical lunch price in Iceland, ranging from US $35 to 45.00 for the entree. The food was solid and the portion size was relatively large. The service was good. This is in only place opened for lunch in this area.

Nice, comfortable and cozy restaurant, part of the Vogafjos Guesthouse (located at the other side of the road). Fresh food. My husband had the smoked lamb (smoked on the premises) and I had the amazing goulash soup. You can either have a beautiful outside view or watch their cows being milked at certain hours. There is glass between the restaurant... More

We stopped here on our Lake Myvatn tour. The food was very good, mostly traditional Icelandic dishes.

After driving for hours through mountains full of snow from the Eastfjords, we arrived to Lake Myvtan hungry. It was late afternoon and we were worried not finding a restaurant open. Not to worry, Vogafjios Café is open all day. Restaurant is modern and inviting and service was fast. At this hour, we were able to take a table next... More

Good service. They use lot of food from locals and really give theyr soul in cooking. Myvatns-trout is really nice. A taste-sample of many diches is good. Of course as usually in icelandic restauranr the lamb is very good.

Vogafjos is a farm, guesthouse and restaurant inside a cow shed. Some of the tables have views through a glass window to the cows in the barn. All of the food is produced from the farm including all the dairy products. We ordered pan fried arctic charr and lamb shank. Totally amazing, and with fresh baked bread and Icelandic butter,...
