I love to frequent the Malthouse for Sunday lunch, there's a great selection of main meals and desserts and the staff are so helpful and friendly.

My wife and I arranged to meet my Brother and his wife somewhere for a meal and a few drinks Sunday evening the 9th of October. Because we lived some distance from each other we wanted to meet somewhere that was about half way for both. We choose the Malt House Pub / Restaurant in the Square Mountbellew None of... More

You may have to queue for 10 minutes at weekends but the food is always worth it! Staff are extremely friendly and helpful...and childproof!!! Nothing is too much bother. Loving cosy setting.

Great food - highly recommend the lasagne. Fantastic, home cooked food. Steak and the curry also very good.

Visited here with family who live locally. Surprised how busy it was given the remote location. We ate here on a Saturday evening and the place was full! The menu initially seemed quite expensive, however, the food arrived quickly and portion sizes were very generous. I had the lasagne which was delicious. We shared the Malteser Cheesecake for dessert but... More

Arrived into Malthouse at 4.55pm this evening...and it was 5.20pm before any of the staff acknowledged my exsistence.....1 guy and 2 girls behind the bar who appeared too involved in their conversation to take my order, so the lady who was cleaning tables etc asked if my order had been taken, and she then informed me the menu I was... It was a Sunday, we were passing through Mountbellew and needed to eat. We choose the place that was busiest, in fact there were queues. We were seated quickly. It had a very good menu some items a little pricey but the specials were very reasonable. The food is waitress served. The food was good quality and good portion sizes.... More

First visit here and what a find, fantastic steak accompanied with whatever you fancy all served by terrific staff If in the area well worth a visit, the reason people may have to wait for a table is simple, this place is so good it draws big numbers of diners. Just a pointer, someone badly needs to define where this... More

Love the food. When you get a table the service is fast. But the wait on a table can be long and you have to stand inside the door.
