The same thing that happened to the 50th birthday mentioned here happened our party in September. After confirming our reservation of a private room months in advance, it didn't happen when we arrived. Another party was in the private room. Even after showing the confirmation emails to manager and other staff, nothing changed. 30 + people let down. Some who... More

We were looking forward to a quiet pint...we were the only people there. We should have known...pint was good, fire lighting. We had a complaint (paint from the ceiling started coming down on us). We brought our drinks to the bar, asked for a manager...no one was in charge. We were not offered a refund, not asked for our contact... More

Really cute with open fire. Enjoyed a hot toddy, G&T and played cards near the fire as locals chatted at the bar

Great night and a warm welcome for our large party on the Sunday following a wedding. A few sore heads and a lot of belly laughing to be had by all! Great place!

Booked months in advance and paid for in full 5 weeks before a surprise 50th Birthday party with people travelling from all over UK to attend only to be told that another party was now a priority as they were a bigger group. We had booked a private party room with food. We were told we could have the room... More

Taaffe's cancelled my sister's 50th birthday party the day before and admitted it was because they subsequently got a bigger booking. In July they showed us the venue, promised us the full evening if we booked the later sitting and took our booking. We made payment in full earlier than they requested. We booked the party BBQ. We had the... More

Wonderful old bar in Carlingford, Ireland. The food and the service were excellent! There was a fire in the little fire place and we enjoyed the entire experience immensely. One of the highlights of our Ireland trip. The bar actually attached to a castle!

We are an Irish traditional pub that serves pub grub at a high standard downstairs, a disco bar upstairs that attracts a crowd of all age groups at the weekend and a banquet hall in the castle, enjoy cheers
