Our first visit to the Riverbank for Sunday lunch with family home from Australia. Set in the countryside about fifteen minutes from Carrickmacross (off Ardee Road), I wondered how do people find this place, but obviously word of mouth is their best recommendation, the place was full of Sunday diners with children as ourselves with a lively three year old.... I had a wonderful evening and overnight here. The Riverbank is in a beautiful location with a building and interior to match. Dinner was excellent, and the service was excellent. There was live music in the bar which added to the very enjoyable atmosphere. Our room was clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. Breakfast was particularly good!

Booked a table for 20:00, arrived at 19:55, didn't get table till 20:45, food arrived at 21:15, It was average at best, no serious effort by staff to apologise. Should have gone to Dooley's instead, will never go back

Very busy place. Had table book for three. When we arrived we waited about 10 minutes to be seated. No place to sit while we waited. Staff was very apologetic for wait. We were seated and very well attended to. Food was excellent. Great choice and excellent value.
