Very authentic hole-in-the-wall Nazaré find. Maria do Mar is a little off the beaten path in terms of restaurants on the main strip facing the ocean, however this gem is only a few minute walk from the main squares and extremely easy to find only a block away from the main beach promenade. We were pleasantly surprised to a cozy... More

We were highly recommended to eat here but felt it was over rated. Maria will try to upsell you in the meal as well. We ate at three restaurants in Nazare and this one was the least favourable.

The special fish stew was truly special! And though there is a two-person requirement on this dish, they made it for me although I was eating alone. They will take care of you like family and the food will be some of the best you have in Portugal.

We were on way from Lisbon to Bathala via Alcobasa. It was lunch time and our guide told us that we should be prepared for a late lunch as she would take us to a special village known for fresh fish. We were feeling quite hungry as we had left Lisbon quite early. After seeing the monastery at Alcobasa and... More

In this small restaurant, hidden in the internal" ruas" of Nazare', my wife and me found really good food and the simpathy of the " boss" : Marina (doughter of the Maria do Mar who gave the name to the business). Very, very fresh fish (sea bass and dourade) made us happy and satisfied. The menu is simple, but the... More

Nice staff and great fish soup. I was appalled with the squid kebab/on the spit. It has bacon alongside with the squid, which makes the whole food taste like pork. For me it was awful as I do not eat meat. For someone who eats meat and ends up with a pork tasting dish when asks a for a fish... More
