After walking around the coast from Trevone to Padstone finding this little gem was wonderful. Up a narrow ally behind a few houses is this delightful and welcoming little cafe. Serving cream teas to crab sandwiches. On a sunny day you can sit and admire the fantastic coastal views. The staff the other side of the little serving hatch are... More

Visited for morning coffee mid-way on our walk! What a find - very friendly owners - lovely coffee and a biscuit for our dog! Sunny spot with amazing views - could not have made us more welcome - will go back when walking that way again! Thank you!

We came upon this tea garden by chance after walking along the coast from Padstow . The view from the garden is stunning, and the food was lovely ...a real hidden gem you have to walk down towards the cottages and old lifeboat station to find it though.

Rest a While Tea Garden came recommended in walking guides and didn't fail. After a six mile walk from Padstow via Trevone and around the coastal path back to Padstow, this was a welcome sight. Friendly service, great choice and reasonably priced on a beautiful deck with amazing view.

Having approached from the beach (the signage is not so good) our visit was nearly over before it had begun but we persisted and found a beautiful spot for our Cream T. The service was God and quick and the staff were really polite. They even became really apologetic when they forgot to give our dog a biscuit. It's a... More

We returned last week to this delightful tea garden. We enjoyed a delicious cream tea and appreciated the delicious fruit smoothie which could be enjoyed by our daughter who has a gluten/dairy free dietary requirement. The view is outstanding, we'll be back as soon as we can! Many thanks

Description
The (tiny) tea garden is at the back of the two hundred year old 'Coastguard Houses' at Hawkers Cove, on the Coastal Path, 150m from the slipway at Hawkers Cove beach and enjoys fantastic views across the Doom Bar and mouth of the Camel Estuary, to Polzeath and Daymer Bay. We serve hot and cold drinks, homemade cakes, quiches and pies, homemade soups, filled jacket potatoes, made to order sandwiches, cream teas, ice creams and various snacks.(Our cream teas and our crab sandwiches are getting rave reviews). For anyone who is Coeliac, we have also added a Gluten Free Flapjack to our homemade products, which include Gluten Free Scones (of course), Gluten Free Lemon Drizzle Cake and Gluten Free Ginger Cake. We are stocking Gluten Free Bread, for sandwiches and Gluten Free Bread Rolls to compliment our Gluten Free homemade soups. We are 'Dog Friendly', welcoming well behaved pooches with a fresh bowl of water and biscuits. The tea garden is, literally, a garden, with no inside seating and is consequently very 'weather dependent' so if the weather is at all 'unsettled', we would advise that you phone ahead to make sure that we are open. The tea garden will be open 7 days a week (weather permitting) from Easter to October. Unfortunately we don't have any parking facilities, so if you wish to drive to us, we suggest that you park in the farmer's car park and walk along the coast path, or park anywhere on the road to Hawkers Cove and walk down the hill, (approx 500m). The tea garden is situated behind the top row of houses. We accept most Credit/Debit Cards. Please come and see us.... You will be made most welcome! Please note that during October we are open from 11.00am to 3.00pm
