Visited here again and can never fault the food or service. The best restaurant around! Definitely worth a visit.

Visited for Birthday treat and what a treat. Although a bit off the beaten track well worth it as the curry was excellent and of far better quality than your average high street restaurant. The Nepalese lamb was incredible. If you're visiting Padstow make the effort as I don't think you'll be disappointed.

We went on Saturday night as we had heard a lot of good reviews of this place. On arriving we were met by a very friendly woman who showed us to our table. Instantly we could tell the restaurant had a really good atmosphere. The menu looked very good and everything sounded really nice, which made it difficult to decide.... More

We were staying nearby and this place came out with excellent reviews. It certainly came up top marks. Helpful staff and really tasty food. Our starters were a lamb dish and a tuna dish, both substantial and well presented. For mains, I took a king prawn balti (rogan) and my wife had the penang duck. Very relaxed and friendly place,... Great spicy dishes full of flavour. Only let down by the prawns. Living so close to the sea and access to the freshest of produce I was left wondering why the prawns in the dishes were not locally sourced. Would have been 5 star review but for this. Everything else was great.

My husband and I ate here in February, just after they had opened for the spring. Restaurant is fairly small, about 8 tables, so about 30 people. It was a Wednesday evening and there were three tables taken. Staff are very pleasant. Menu is Asian with a selection of steaks for those who prefer English! I had a balti, which... More

A long overdue review, but written with the benefit of having done Steve's cookery class and having visited this consistently excellent restaurant over the last 6 years or so on holidaying to Padstow. The Journeyman is always the first place we book and it is something of a pilgrimage when we return - a testament to the quality of Steve's... More

What can I say.The food, the atmosphere, surroundings and the service was absolutely FIRST class. You can smell the delicious spices as soon as you get out of the car. You are made to feel so welcome by the lovely lady who is the waitress and also the chef comes out and speaks to you.Definitely will go back.

We have been at the Journeyman quite a few times over the years and it still remains our favourite eatery in the area. The food is always excellent and well delivered in a cosy atmosphere. We should have been there back in May for our 40th anniversary but had to cancel at the last minute due to illness, but had... More

We made our annual prigrimage to the Journeyman this week, and decided we needed to sample the experience twice during our holiday. If you like a good curry, than the food produced by Steve will surpass your wildest expectations. The favours that he manages to produce are second to none, and if we lived nearer, we would be going every... More
