Popped in for a quick drink after a day out shopping. Was very busy but cosy on s cold winter evening. Candles lit on the tables. Didn't stay too long as you could hardly move and no free chairs but it was a Saturday night and it's not a big place.

Great beer! A proper pub with a mix of locals providing interesting local "banter" Staff were friendly and the locals were happy to point out the local attractions.

Stopped here with the family on a wet Friday night. Came in soaked, invited to sit next to the warm open fire by one of the locals so my family could dry off. Friendly bar staff and a nice local pub vibe. If your looking for a posh wine bar then go somewhere else. If your looking for a old... More

A good beer pub with a real fire and very friendly and helpful barmaid. Beer was good and good atmosphere combined with real pub character. Didn't try the food so can't comment on that.

Stopped in for a quick pint after dinner and ended up staying until close! Proper pub, lovely cosy areas to sit and chat, nice fire roaring, great atmosphere, friendly staff, and of course a good pint - winning combination!

Unable to sit in the bar side as very busy that night. The dining room was quite cold & a bit lacking in atmosphere. The fish & chips were tasty and batter not too greasy. Also fish chowder could have contained more fish, but reasonable flavour. Staff helpful.

Great pub... Nice selection of real ale and a log fire, perfect for a November visit. Bar staff were fairly friendly although I got the impression that locals got preferential treatment....

we often visit lyme and normally use one of the seafront pubs but we wanted a more traditional less commercial pub and this seemed to tick the boxes - they had a nice selection of hand pulled ales on the bar and a traditional feel to the pub rather than a commercial pub with pool tables and family dining etc... A long-standing entry in The Good Beer Guide and it's easy to see why. Everything you would expect from a beer house! We tried their "house beer" straight from the cask - very good. They also have St.Austell and other brewers ales on handpump. Traditional "dark beam" interior which adds to the charm of the bar. A must visit -... More
