Lovely venue and atmosphere, friendly staff, very pleasant. However, the food was an anomaly. We went there for the Sunday roast. Both the beef, pork and confit of lamb were all excellent. The cauliflower cheese side was also good, fresh and hot. Generous Yorkshire pudding...More

Although the wine was overpriced the food was delicious. Service was attentive without feeling overcrowded. The pub was not overly busy when we went at 1.00pm. It manages to combine being a pub and a restaurant very successfully. I would go again.

After years of hearing great things about this pub, I was keen to make a visit for my 30th birthday. It more than lived up to expectations. Had smoked partridge breast for my starter - without the sprout purée. First time I'd tried partridge -...More
