I recently visited here as a group of 6 adults with 1 child. After first ordering our food we were told that there was only one pie left, which was strange as lunch was from 12 o'clock and we were there at 1pm. The place was empty, with only one other table of 5 seated in the restaurant. So on... More

A gem of a restaurant, very quiet but so welcoming and food excellent. Fell upon it in passing, so glad we did as the specials dishes were amazing. Reasonably priced, freshly cooked, good beer, nice wine selection - what more could you ask? Enjoyed our meal so much we returned for another meal the next night!

Very helpful staff, I popped in with some work colleagues for a social pint and a quick meal. The food was delicious, I had the Cajun Chicken burger. Fresh bun, tasty chicken breast, Fries (with skins on) and a salad. Good selection of sauces, and a lovely selection of ales. Will happily go back again next time we plan a... More

We recently called in for Sunday Lunch. There was one large group of people eating in the conservatory and a table of 3 in the bar area. We were the only other guests so thought there would be no problem being fed. Having ordered drinks we asked if we could eat only to be told they had run out of... More

Called in on the off chance for Sunday lunch and received great service. Sunday roast was plentiful and very good value. But the service was very friendly and made the visit.

We arrived at 6pm on a Wednesday, we were the only diners there. We ordered a drink and took a seat. The waitress was very polite but shy and it would have been helpful if she had directed us to whether we had to order food from the bar or whether she would take our order. I had the stuffed... Three of us thought we'd try the new Sunday roast dinner. £12.95 each for main course and dessert. We were really pleased with it. Slow cooked lamb, turkey roulade or a vegetarian option were available, all with a range of vegetables. Well cooked and tasted lovely. For dessert we had Eton Mess, chocolate torte and sticky toffee pudding. The last... More

We were on our way to a garden centre and decided that as this establishment had re-opened we'd give it a try. At 12.30 pm on a Saturday afternoon there were very few people in here, so plenty of tables to choose from. We finally chose a table...or rather my 7 year old grandson did. The pleasant girl who was... More

Really friendly staff and the food was excellent couldn't fault anything about this place. I had a large fish and chips and got a free pudding. If you go on Wednesdays and you order a burger then you get a free pudding that night too and yes they do a vegetarian burger option😃. Lovely pub dog called Kai too. The... More

Description
Malswick House looks like an old country inn from the outside, but the surprise is that once you step inside the look and atmosphere feels very informal, contemporary, light and relaxing, not like a traditional pub at all! The menus are unique and offer an excellent selection of home-made food at reasonable prices, which can be enjoyed with a real ale or glass of wine from our wine list or a choice of many other drinks including Italian coffees. In September 2013, The Herefordshire & Gloucestershire Canal Trust bought the freehold of Malswick House via its commercial arm, The Wharf House. All profits from Malswick House will be donated to the Herefordshire and Gloucestershire Canal restoration. Malswick House has recently undergone a complete refurbishment and is now a fabulous destination pub/restaurant with a lovely courtyard garden with tables in the dappled shade from the grape vines. We also have a disabled ramp at the main doors at the front which has improved access from the large car park, and a wheelchair friendly loo too. We are looking forward to welcoming our customers both old and new. The Herefordshire & Gloucestershire Canal Trust is a registered charity which has the ultimate aim of completing full restoration of the Canal from Gloucester to Hereford - an ambitious but achievable goal. Eventually the Canal will run along the back of The Travellers Rest creating superb views from the garden.
