This is a converted cotton mill and it’s really very quirky. Floors and walls aren’t straight, but who cares, it’s friendly, with good food and a great welcome. The breakfast table service and the breakfast is great, the evening meal food is very good, but...the service isn’t quite so good. But yes , we would come again. Great parking too.More

We had a wonderful early dinner after a business meeting in the town, only a few minutes walk away. We were lucky to be able to enjoy a sunny mid September evening so decided to sit in the gardens which are beautiful with the mill...pond and scaping, plenty of seating to choose from under cover or not. The staff were very helpful. One can order by app on phone or at the bar. (Card only payment). Our meal was delicious, the baked garlic and rosemary Camembert sharing platter with fab bread was good for the 4 of us to share. The hock and cheese croquettes with garlic mayo were fab too. The pizza were all very good. Very busy for a Thursday evening so would recommend booking. We look forward to returning for a cosy Autumnal evening in side which looks really lovely.More

We stayed here on our way back from Cornwall. Greay location but let's itself down in the rooms. Room 7. TV old and out dated and small. Our tea and coffee was left in a paper bag on the table. I nearly threw out. Also...if you bill to your room check your bill. I was over charged at breakfast told the guy he said he sorted it. When I got home. He had still taken the original amount from my account. Food very overpriced. Attention to detail in the rooms.More

After a busy weekend, Sunday evening relaxing with a few drinks watching the ducks, followed by an excellent burger was just what we needed. The staff were great - really friendly and helpful - and the restaurant busy but not overrun. Recommended for a casual...dinner.More

Having found this little gem whilst doing our research into the area we decided to go for our lunch at 13.45 . On arrival with our little four legged friend in tow we were greeted by a young enthusiastic lady who welcomed us all and...informed us how dog friendly the establishment was . Once seated we downloaded the app and was able to order our drinks /food without having to move . The service was exceptional we only waited five minutes for our drinks to arrive and less than thirty minutes for our delicious lunch. The staff were extremely happy to bag up our leftovers to take home . Well done to all involved in our visitMore

We stayed a couple of nights here and I have to say it exceeded our expectations. We had a superior double room that overlooked the gardens and it was well equipped although an armchair would have been good, I guess maybe Covid is an issue....We had breakfast and dinner there and both were superb. The menu is varied and it is so well cooked and presented. They must have a damned good chef! The staff were all really friendly and helpful too. The Egypt Mill is well located and we loved the waterside terrace. Terrific value and I would re-book without hesitation. Thank you.More

The place is very nice and the outside area very pleasant. The staff called us ‘guys’ which I don’t like. As a party of women we didn’t like being addressed as such. I ordered the pan fried sea bream. It was tasty but advertised as...coming with new potatoes. There was half of one new potato hidden under the spinach. The portions here are very meagre and expensive for what you get. A side of mozzarella and tomato had 4 chunks of mozzarella and one tomato cut into 4. Served in a tiny dish. Not impressed.More

We enjoyed a lovely lunch outside in beautiful surroundings, both inside and out are full of charm. The outside area around the mill pond has plenty of tables undercover, for us this was really good as it was a very hot and sunny day, but...would be equally good for inclement weather too. The staff were attentive and friendly. Our food was very good, very much enjoyed the watermelon and cucumber drinks! Even though the Covid restrictions have been nationally lifted we were very impressed to note that the safety measures we are all accustomed to were still in place, it felt very safe. Look forward to returning very soon.More
