We visited Hope and Anchor last year, but as we staying in the area over the weekend we thought that we would visit for a Sunday lunch. We are glad we did!!. two of us had the 'Mini roasts' - 'fraid I can't remember what the other two people had - but it was all great. Next we are in... More

Don't be fooled by the uninteresting facade, the food and service is well worth the visit. There is a good menu with fair pricing.

While in Alnmouth we decided that we would try the Italian restaurant next to the Hope and anchor pub. The food was very nice with a fair choice and served by a friendly staff. I was not disappointed when the food arrived and found it delicious. The slight surprise came when paying the bill and we were told to pay... More

Ended up here st the Hope and Anchor Alnmouth by chance after being disappointed by another restaurant. Although it was a busy Bank Holiday Friday evening they managed to squeeze me in and serve me quickly. It was clearly very popular and all the food that was carried past me on its way to the table looked pretty tempting. In... More

Thoroughly enjoyed meal here on Sunday night. Good choice on Menu and food was really good. I had the Linguine Carbonara and was absolutely delicious. Will definitely be returning to sample other items on the menu. Stayed and ate here last year before coastal walk and enjoyed it but seems to have been upgraded since then and is now even... More

Excellent "Italian " restaurant in the heart of beautiful Alnmouth, the food choice was great the staff excellent and very helpful, service top class. All in all old highly recommend this establishment, especially after our disastrous experience across the street the night before, ( see previous review on Hooked ).

Four of us booked in for Sunday lunch, for two of us our first time but it will definitely not be the last. Ordered the carvery which is brought to your table, three mini joints of beef, pork and lamb which were superbly cooked so much so the meat fell into tasty, juicy servings. Mashed and roast potatoes, cauliflower cheese,... More

We visited for Sunday lunch today for the first time. Unusual presentation as 3 meats, roast pots and yorkies on one large wooden board between two with veggies separate. Meats were lamb, pork and beef all fell apart wonderfully cooked. Veggies of green beans, carrots, parsnips and cauliflower cheese plus gravy. We had a lovely meal well cooked and great... More

After a 7 mile beach walk hubby and I tipped up in Alnmouth looking for Sunday dinner. We came across this place and thought why not. What a find - I don't have enough superlatives in my vocabulary to tell you how magnificent this Sunday Carvery was. At £12.50 per it's not the cheapest but it's not the most expensive... More

We have stayed here and will do so again. There is also a restaurant and bar which are very pleasant and have a great choice of food. We had hot beef baguettes for lunch. Scrummy!!!!
