We came to Lacock to visit abbey and called in for lunch. We received a very warm welcome from the landlady and enjoyed a hot and filling lunch. We had the senior citizens meal, my wife had chicken tikka and rice and I had beef and dumpling stew, both meals were large portions and piping hot. These meals were followed... More

Called in here yesterday for the first time in a year. I believe new landlord since then . Then place seemed popular and the staff were very friendly. Three Arkell's cask ales were on and I enjoyed a well kept pint of BBB . The menu seemed extensive and reasonably priced but I just wanted a light lunch and had... More

Awful, doesn't appear to be a place that you can just pop in for a pint. Didn't feel welcome or comfortable. Happy we decided not to eat at this place and found a much better alternative just down the road. Not surprised it was empty on a Saturday lunchtime!! Previous comments about the toilets remain the same, stink with toilet... More

Visited The Carpenters Arms today for lunch. Quiet and a bit chilly but the staff were very pleasant. Very filling but rather tasteless stew and fish and chips. The food was hot and arrived promptly and provided an adequate lunch at a reasonable price - no room for pudding! The pub has an eating area, coffee and bar area. The... More

Maybe some people expect too much, or the silver spoon they were born with is simply stuck where the sun don't shine. We found the service pleasant, the food good, and the prices reasonable.

We went for lunch after visiting the Abbey, it very busy but a group who were just leaving offered us their table, but the lady said her meal was awful, (don't know why we didn't leave then)! We waited an age for a young girl (who was very nice) to take our order, we ordered the two course meal and... More

We visited this pub on a short visit to the village of Lacock. The pub is at the bottom of the village and is set in a beautiful location. The staff welcomed us as we walked through the door and we felt comfortable from then on. We ordered ciabattas and when they came they were delicious. They were served with... More

The Carpenters Arms in Lacock is a lovely traditional pub - excellent home cooked food, generous portions and friendly helpful staff. We have been here a number of times and the staff are happy to cater for my gluten intolerant husband and a slightly fussy 1 year old! On dry days it's also nice to sit out the front and... More

We visited the Carpenters arms after a walk around the National Trust Abbey. I asked the landlord if they had a vegan option or could they modify a vegetarian option and he said NO. My companions were hungry and ordered a meal so I ordered potato wedges so that I could eat something. 20 full minutes later the landlord came... More
